It's cool to see how far video games have come. Espcially taking an old franchise and giving it a fresh coat of HD paint. Serious Sam HD: The First Encounter brings back fond memories of pre-halo shooting games like Doom or Castle Wolfenstien. It plays similar to those games and is super easy to get into. However is this worth your XBLA points?
"Enemies in SS HD are the punchlines of the game. Whether its from their quirky designs or the funny sound effects. At first you can upon the compressed sound as bad quality , but then again you can't help but chuckle at the absurd sound effects the monster's make. One thing that keeps this game in a constant pace of action is the enemies, which all seem to run at you, keeping you on your toes. Definitely pays homage to the original and can be seen in games today like left 4 dead."
Steam's Summer Sale has tons of games at low prices, but here are the best games you can buy without worrying about spending too much money.
Dealspwn reports: "This is a ridiculous deal as you'll get Serious Sam 2, Serious Sam 3: BFE, Serious Sam Classic: First Encounter, Serious Sam Classic: Second Encounter, Serious Sam Double D, Serious Sam HD: The First Encounter, Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter, Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter - Legend of the Beast, and Serious Sam: The Random Encounter... i.e. all of the Serious Sam ever, basically... for seven quid."
Our Top 15 LAN Compatible Games include Dying Light, Age of Wonders III and Farming Simulator 15 just to name a few. That is if you are ever hosting a LAN Party and want to laugh at others (or get laughed at) in person while playing these games.
Even though I don't like the idea of Farming Simulator, there aren't that many LAN games out there any more, and shooters seem to be forcing non-local matchmaking. It's great to see what I can play with my friends at a huge birthday party.
