NY Pols Reach Agreement on Game Bill; Passage Delayed Until July

Details are few at this point as New York State legislators worked late last night to wrap up the current session.

As expected, the Senate and Assembly reached agreement on video game legislation. However, time ran out before the measure could be passed in both houses. Legislators expect to formally pass the bill when they return in July. At that point the video game bill will go to Gov. Eliot Spitzer (D), who is expected to sign it into law.

To be honest some of the stuff they want to get through regarding gaming i agree with. I know it's going to make a lot of people mad probably but if a game is rated M then people under 17 should not be able to buy it by themselves, just like a movie or a CD. It's how it works, it may suck when your younger but a lot of things do when your younger.

THis is nuts, I agree wiht restricting kids form buying it, but they are going way overboard. Making it a felony... you can see worse things on TV/cable, will you arrest a guy at BestBuy for selling Porky's???
