"Because Qore is an all High Definition Television production, this is one of the best ways to see how a game looks on the monitor you actually use to play games. Everybody talks about the same videos being on the internet, but it’s not the same if you want to see and almost feel what, say, the Battlefield battles look like or the gorgeous render of Tokyo at night in Yakuza 3."

Bubbles_Kitty_Cat5187d ago (Edited 5187d ago )

I wish they still gave away the episodes for free in the back of the Playstation (PTOM) magazine.

I subscribe to the magazine and used to look forward to getting the free codes.

I am definitely NOT going to pay $25 a year for Qore.

Godmars2905187d ago

They give you a $20 re-subscription option.

That you don't know that makes me wonder.

darx5187d ago

Is this all Sony fans do is complain?

OGharryjoysticks5187d ago

That actually makes a lot of sense. I'm too cheap to try Qore, but being able to see the product on the exact screen through the PS3 system instead of screenshots in a magazine or over the internet does s sound better. But then I keep my magazines in the toilet which is a luxury as well, and the internet footage and screenshots is available much sooner I'm sure so that has its benefits too.

dragunrising5187d ago

I resubscribed for $20 and am currently half-regretting it. I really appreciated the freebies...even come to expect them. Either way, its a great service. I only wish they could give away more than a free theme here or there.

"They give you a $20 re-subscription option.

Makes you wonder about what?

I have never had a subscription to Qore, so I didn't know that (although I still wouldn't pay $20 for it in its current state).

BattleAxe5187d ago (Edited 5187d ago )

I haven't been very happy with the lack of content in Qore aswell. Does anyone else notice the lack of game demos and themes these days? I've been a Qore subscriber from day one, but I might not renew my subscription this summer.

Qore is garbage. if anything, Qore should be complementary when subscribing towards the PS magazine.

Megaton5187d ago

I subscribed at issue 3, and I believe I got more than $30 in free games from the subscription, so it was worth it. No way I'd re-subscribe though. The only episode I really liked was Halloween 2008, which was like... 3rd in my subscription. The rest were crap.

Godmars2905187d ago (Edited 5187d ago )

Don't think its the same company as the physical mag. They just share the name.

They do need more content though. Exclusive footage, something you'd think Sony would want them to have, at least.

Chubear5187d ago

Complaining about Qore being a "rip-off" is stupid.

Sony has provided it's fanbase with a choice: either you like the Ezine Qore and pay $2.99 an episode or you get the other FREE Ezine in PULSE. There's no drama here and Sony doesn't even own Qore, they just present it. PULSE is owned by Sony and it's FREE.

Also, the only people who should complain about the content of Qore are those who pay for it and that's what this article is mainly about.

Er it sounded good anyway. Oh well...

nogolis5187d ago

Qore is absolute ballz. They need to fire that butt ass ugly girl doing it... Get better content... More content and reformat it. It's obtuse and flat. 25 bucks a year for Qore with no value or perks to back up its price tag is criminal.

Good that whole thing was a waste in a poorly put together package.

They should just focus on putting out smaller individual videos rather than a big downloadable thing thats irritating to use. Making ofs, dev diaries, they could even look to some of the good gaming related series on the net for inspiration.

They could put out little featurettes, lets plays, maybe some reviews. As long as they let them go at it unbiased it would be pretty good. If there could be a show of the caliber of all your history or jon tron's shows.

It would be a relatively cheap way to get people looking at their games and content as easy passive and consumer friendly advertising. Though it would rely on quality content.

Xof4391d ago

It probably would have been more effective if they'd streamed it. A poorly-put together show is nothing. Look at the crap clogging the gaming media today. It's just that no one wants to wait an hour to DOWNLOAD a poor put-together gaming show.

Rupee4391d ago

Yep that's honestly why I never watched those. Never wanted to take the time to download.

LightofDarkness4391d ago

No way, the money should be spent on developing a sit-com. It stars a Sony Executive and a Microsoft Executive, who have to share an apartment in downtown New York for utterly arbitrary reasons. They are frequently visited by Fanboy, a fickle videogame fan who frequently switches sides completely from one exec to the other, depending on whatever wacky scenario is in play for that episode. Antics ensue.

Clearly, this is a gold-mine. Can I have my million dollars NOW, Sony?

come_at_me_bro4391d ago

Please tell me you have a future in television.

DragonKnight4391d ago

That idea is literally the best thing that could happen to tv today. I'm completely serious. Tv is crap these days and I feel like an old man when I saw I miss the 90's and "when I was younger we had better tv shows." It's just the truth though.

DrPepper4391d ago

ehhh never really cared for qore, i only watched like 13 mins of a episode. honestly i have n4g to get all my gaming news, trailers, etc from.
