CSM writes: "Walk It Out is a rhythmic walking game that helps families get fit by walking everyday. Kids create an avatar which represents them as they explore walking paths within the world of Rhythm Island. They start on a limited number of paths but the more they walk, the more the island expands. As kids walk in place in real life, their avatar walks in the virtual world. Each rhythmic step earns a chip to use to unlock additional walking paths, trees, buildings, landmarks, rainbows, new music, and even the ability to change the time of day. You choose what to spend your chips on by pointing your Wii remote at floating capsules. For example, if you click on a palm tree that costs 50 chips and you have earned that many steps, a palm tree instantly grows beside the path."
GamesRadar - Almost any premise can be the basis for an entertaining video game. Undesirable tasks like waiting tables or mopping up icky fluids are made strangely satisfying by Diner Dash and Viscera Cleanup Detail, respectively. Euro Truck Simulator 2, which might sound like prescription-grade sleep medication to some people, is consistently among the most-played games on Steam. No matter how peculiar the concept, clever game design can turn even the most ordinary real-world activity into virtual fun.
XMNR: Amazon announced their "Prelude to Black Friday" deal week yesterday with a preview of deals for the PC, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii and DS running for the week of November 14. The deals start today but open with a bit of a yawner.
They had some pretty badass deals last year. Hopefully this year will be a repeat.
Ex: Amazon's Gold Box is filled with deals on games and accessories for the Nintendo Wii today. While most of the deals seem to cater to the casual dance and fitness gamers, there is one game that the kids will enjoy and one fantasy RPG that's a great buy for fans of the genre.
