A Tale in the Desert, a unique combat-free MMO that focuses on social and crafting gameplay, will be launching a new server on February 20, 2010. New and old players alike will be able to converge upon Egypt where nothing is built and everything is open for the taking. What makes this server truly unique is that every test will already be coded into the game and the speed of this telling will only be limited by the players themselves.
Only (very little) time will tell the outcome of the election held by Sami and Wahim to determine who may take their father’s place as Pharaoh. Each candidate has their positions – one for progress, and the other for reform. All concerned citizens should expect to know the results by 12:00 Noon on Sunday August 1st, 2010 – EDT (GMT-0400).
If you're more a fan of crafting and socializing in MMOs rather than combat, but haven't checked out A Tale in the Desert yet, you're definitely missing out. The game is completely non-combat, focusing on advancement through player cooperation and crafting.
A Tale in the Desert is an very good and refreshing game for the genre, while it does have some major flaws it will keep your attention for some time if it suites your taste. The game is essential a player driven experience, for the goals you try to obtain through to the changes in the game you wish to implement, eGenesis have created something truly unique.
While it may be a little uninteresting to look and the overall goal of the game is extremely community driven, A Tale in the Desert is surely one to try.
