CC: God Of War III game director Stig Asmussen has spoken about the potential competition to Kratos of Dante's Inferno, and also given his thoughts on Bayonetta and the Devil May Cry series.
And Ninja Gaiden? They say it like it's forgotten. I'd slap them, but sh!t splatters. TGSI
They're all pretty damn good games... Kratos rules the World though in my opinion XD
The Sigma effect, made people forget about the Ninja Gaiden franchise altogether. :( Sigma 2 looks nice but that's it.
I will be playing both. Dante for 360 and kratos for ps3. No harm in that. edit: @silent...it is simple. I played both demos of dante and felt the control was smoother on the 360. Maybe its my hands or something but even though it is a clone of GoW, it just controlled better for me on the 360. That and I wouldnt want to make kratos mad playing a similar game on the ps3 when I should be playing him.
"Question is, what game do love the most?" LOL, wut? "Dante for 360 and kratos for ps3" Why the 360? The PS3 version has better textures and comes like a collectors edition without charging more money (In the US, anyway). EDIT: Your loss.
False Pretender!! Stop Pretending! Still it's pleasing to hear one director grace blessing on another director who is obviously loaning his formulae. The thing that captivates me most about Dante though is the sound ... I love what they did with it. It's like Dead Space ... just some seriously good work.
When i play other hack & slash games i always notice something missing in my connection to the characters and the environments. Some how i just have a lot more connection towards Kratos (in a non-gay manner) and how badass the dude is. Just the pure epicness of the way he looks and destroys his enemies makes me feel his anger and pain. The environments and bosses are well organized and the story is as griping as ever. Sony should really make a GOW movie. It will generate immense buzz.
"And Ninja Gaiden? They say it like it's forgotten. I'd slap them, but sh!t splatters" He didn't have to mention it at all, but he did. You don't know the context - you didn't hear him say it, so stop jumping to conclusions. Overreaction of the week.
All are great games........
Yeah...All but Bayonetta (and Devil May Cry 2 & 4).
DMC2...what a F#cking Mess with that Game...
... what a sh!t storm in a hot desert during dry season. That game was rushed and even when I go back and play it today, it still seems rushed.
if you really are a gamer, you need to buy all of them :)
First, the graphics were PS2'ish. 2nd, It clearly is a clone of God Of War. 3rd, there's no multiplayer, so once I finish the story, what incentive do I have to keep it? God Of War has no multiplayer either, but if you have the collection, it would make sense for many to want to complete it. I didn't dislike DI's demo, but I it clearly played like a rental....at least for me, and there's just way to many other good games to spend $60 on this.
... hook a brother up ... only a small amount of us on here can accomplish that I think.
Devil May Cry/Bayonetta have inspired GOW while Dante's Inferno is a blatant rip off.
Devil May Cry, I would agree with you but Bayonetta I don't think so. the game just got released to have an effect on GODIII
classy comment... that's how you deal with your competition!
but the difference between God of war and the rest of them is the fact that God of war requires zero skill.
You obviously haven't played it. Poser.
I actually find GOW slightly harder than Ninja Gaiden Sigma so stop talking out of ur anus.
i bet that you didn't play the game .. well try to play on god or titan difficulty
no skill required for GoW?? haha...somebody played on EASY! NOOB! mind you, playing bayonetta on easy will only requires 1 hand and the other is free for cookies or something! like this chick is showing:
Despite knowing that the God Of War franchise is second to none in it's genre, Stig Asmussen still has kind words. A true class act through and through. And as Belal stated "if you really are a gamer, you need to buy all of them :) Absolutely!
"There are other games that seem to be drawing inspiration directly from the language that we have built and Dante's Inferno is doing a really good job at that I think" In other words Dante ripped us off big time. Anyways, great comment by Stig Asmussen. Props
just simply better, i dont know how to deccribe it...OK (TOMB RAIDER IS DANTES INFERNO) (UNCHARTED 2 IS GOD OF WAR) UNDERSTAND?
Why can't MS devs be this classy?.
Well, how does one define, classy. Some think of it this way, certain others think of it as constantly "reassuring" that their next game is going to be "bigger, better, and more bad-ass."
And which MS dev wasn't classy?
when you own every right, aspect, and deviation of a thing do you really think anyone can give you a hard time if you're a douchebag? A King can dig his nose in public and fling a booger in your face and still request to have your head chopped off :D. On topic: trully a display of gentle swordsmanship though; I was half expecting to hear him say something like " NO comment." or " What's a Dante?"
“MAG is the greatest multiplayer shooter I know.” Scott Rudi, MAG producer Zipper interactive We can play the example game all day if you wish. OT: Bayonetta was amazing-seems to have the best gameplay of the three-and GOW3 and DI are going to be great as well. I just can't wait to hear all the claims of "journalism bias" when certain people find out that DI is actually a really good game. The amount of crow that will be eaten that day will go down in history.
.. or what will happen if you are wrong? We want to know oh wise Seek of the Seeks!! Tell us your prophecies in full, don't give us this half baked kaka.
I didn't bring GOW3 up; so why the emotional tirade? Graphics don't make a game, neither does characters on screen or the "many more reasons" that you allude to. GOW3 will be epic and awesome and all of that; at least based on it's past. However, how does that stop DI from being a great game as well? You talk about how GOW3's story is great and that(and some literary purists) say that DI bastardizes the epic poem of it's name sake. If that is the case, than can it not be said that GOW does the same thing to Greek Mythology? Or does that only apply to games you hate on? I'll have both (I already own Bayonetta)so I win regardless. Both take liberties in there approach to the subject matter but if you've read the Divine Comedy, you would know that the real star of the show is hell itself; something that Visceral has taken into great consideration; even bringing in Wayne Barlowe. @DW, If I'm wrong and I don't like the game, then I'm wrong. So what exactly is the issue? In the adult world, when your wrong, you accept it, acknowledge it, and move on. My feelings won't be hurt if it reviews well and I like it or if it sucks and reviews badly. That's something that children and fanboys sulk over. Some people...sheesh.
Without DMC, GOW would've never existed whether you want to acknowledge it or not. Disclaimer: This comment was not meant to spark any immature fanboy arguments. N4G may go back to its regularly scheduled program.
I like your anti-flame suit tactics .. I shall loan this tactic.
I haven't actually played any of these games for more than 10 minutes. I saw a friend play through most of the first GOW game. I know friends that have enjoyed the DMC series. I just haven't played any of them at length.
"Question is, what game do love the most?" I think "The Game" does love the most, maybe that's just me though.
I played the Dante demo and I gotta say I was far from impressed. Graphically is just looked unimpressive, almost last gen, and it just seemed uninteresting. I've never really played any similar games though, the exception being the God of War: Chains of Olympus on my PSP- which I really loved and that's whats piqued my interest in GOWIII. I'm reserving judgement on these games. Maybe I'll pick up a cheap copy of Ninja Gaiden and that might spark something.
No darksiders? In recent releases (Jan), i though Darksiders was the most promising.. over Bayo n Dante's infer. But I do love DMC and Ninja Gaiden equally as GoW franchise.. Just that Kratos looks too badass if you stand em next to each other. (it saddens me that devil trigger was taken out in DMC.. made DMC1 n 3 stand out soo much..)
