Not a bad list but i was hoping for some kind of kill achievement like what was in GoW, because a 10,000 kill achievement would not be that hard to get in Halo but still shows a level of dedication to the game.
Agreed--hopefully, there's new content added later.
I think the various degrees of difficulty are for those who want a challenge, especially the Legendary one. A player may be able to unlock them all at once by playing through the game on Legendary the first time through. (Assuming it's like Gears, and you can get them all at once by beating it in the hardest mode).
I think the simplicity of the online achievements is on purpose--you might have some people boosting/cheating for them, but they're so simple that it's not really necessary.
But I also agree with Diselage--a total kill achievement would be nice. I didn't play Halo 2 nearly as often as some, and I still had more than 5,000 kills.
Maybe add a ranked scale in the future: Points for 500 kills, 1,000, 5,000, 10,000, etc.
Games like Gears Of War screwed up on achievements like get 10, 000 kills... screw that.
It promotes griefing and not working with your team in order to win, do you really think that people who are going for 5, 000 grenade sticks achievement is gonna help the team?
Bungie makes it balanced, while at the same time players can unlock them even when they are not going for them.
These achievements promote having fun in the actual game.
Edit:
Halo 1 only had 10 levels while Halo 2 had 7 levels that were split into 15 levels.
I'm not sure if your commenting on my comment about the number of levels, but here's my issue. That was last generation. In this new generation of gaming (or current, whatever) I expect games to be better in every aspect, including size and scale. Nine missions does not sound like a lot for the 360 or sound like it will take a long time to complete.
There aren't really any spoilers in the Achievements, except maybe the achievement's called "Cleansing", "Refuge", "last Stand", "the Key" and the final level called "Return".
The achievements seem disappointingly easy, but at least I can focus on enjoying the game once they're done. I generally don't like "1,000,000 online ranked kills" achievements, but if any game should have one, it should be Halo. Gear's of War's 10,000 was tough, but hugely rewarding.
My real concern though, is why so many of the online achievements seem to be for "free for all" online matches.
And what's up with the "access terminal" achievement? I hope it's not another pointless COG tag thing.
I'm assuming the access terminals will be similar to the ones they had in the Marathon series bungie did originally. They basically had emails/transmissions between various entities that gave alot more depth and explanation to the story. I don't recall those being in the first 2 halos, though its been a while since i played through their campaigns.
As with previous Halos: Game length will be perfect to finish the game in co-op in 2-3 sessions, which is exactly what I intend to do. No arguments at all there.
I am surprised that there is no Co-op achievements.
It does sound like pretty easy achievements. Co-op achievements, some numbered total of kills with a certain weapon and maybe some embarrising achievements that earn no points (like in Dead or Alive 4), would be awesome.
These levels should be bigger than Halo 2 and Halo 1's levels so these missions must be huge. These achievements could change btw, they got a few months left.
well not all luck but the only "difficult" ones seem to be for SP and i really don't see how any of those achievements are going to be extremely hard except for of course legendary which will just take some time.

That list looks awesome and it does not look so hard as well. The 10,000 kills achievement in Gears of War is stupid to be honest.
I don't want to know anything until the game comes out.
I want to be surprised... i must keep myself in ignorance... i've heard its bliss.
...website's blocked from my job. Anybody want to post a few noteworthy achieves with a spoiler heading for those who don't want to know?
