We'll see how long that lasts...

Seriously, don't announce a release date until the game goes gold.

Jamegohanssj53195d ago

Woot! I can't to see how this game is received. I need to upgrade my video card for my PC.

about damn time

i'm exited for this game ...looks like what RE5 should've been

THE MAX SPEED 213195d ago

Great news I've been waiting to play an horror game on my Xbox after finishing RE5. I might finish homecoming also.

Jamegohanssj53195d ago

Wait it's supposed to a survival horror? I think it would be kind of like Heavy Rain in some sort of way.

@ Jamegohanssj5 I wouldn't upgrade your graphics card for this game. The PC version of Alan Wake has been canned and it is now only appearing on the xbox 360. You can just feel the love from Microsoft for PC gaming can't you.

Rockox3195d ago

@ Max Speed - Homecoming is a decent survival horror game. It pales in comparison to the other Silent Hill titles, but it's still a fun little romp.

On topic: With Splinter Cell coming out in April, I'm guessing they'll try to release Alan Wake late May or early June.

talltony3195d ago

game does look pretty cool.

Christopher3195d ago

Normally not a good thing to not know a release date by now. Personally, I'm perfectly fine if it gets pushed back a month or two, but I'm guessing Microsoft is pushing for it to come out ASAP.

The Happy Baby3195d ago

I still fear a delay/pushback.

StanLee3195d ago

I don't get it; Microsoft releases games on the XBox 360 and PC and they get criticized for it. They decide to release games solely on the XBox 360 and they still get criticized for it. They can't win.

Christopher3195d ago (Edited 3195d ago )

That's not at all what it is.

Microsoft releases a game on the PC/360 and tries to call it a 360 exclusive, they get criticized because they ignore the PC platform and because it's not really an exclusive.

Microsoft releases a game for just the 360 in order to boost 360 game sales and for no other reasons, they get criticized because they ignore the PC platform.

Jamegohanssj53195d ago

Oh wow thanks for that devastating news. I guess I'll never play the game unless! YES! Someone lets me borrow their 360 >>.

@ StanLee - I personally don't care what MS does or does not do on the xbox 360 seriously I couldn't care less. What I do care about is how Microsoft keep raiding the PC to prop it's console up. Alan Wake is a perfect example a game show cased on the PC suddenly gets canned for the PC and now it is Xbox 360 only game.

Now if that is how they want to play it then fine, I just hope PC gamers remember this if Remedy ever bothers to make anything for the PC, you know the platform that supported THEM in the beginning.

"Microsoft releases a game on the PC/360 and tries to call it a 360 exclusive"

I'm sorry got some links for that? Microsoft calls it "exclusive" period becuase its Games for Windows...WINDOWS and Xbox 360 only - both of which are Microsoft platforms.

Check out CES 2010 video from the conference - Robbie Bach referred to Mass Effect 2 and Splinter Cell Conviction as "exclusive". Never said 360 exclusive. Aaron Greenberg does the same.

But for some reason, people seem to think Microsoft invented and owns the PC...which isn't an OS but can be anything that classifies in the range of being a personal computer.

Christopher3195d ago (Edited 3195d ago )

Here ya go (and you'll find a lot more since this is verbatim what they said at CES): http://www.shacknews.com/fe...

Quoted: "Bach cited three main pillars in support. The first of these was, he claimed, the best lineup of Xbox 360 exclusives ever, with Mass Effect 2, Splinter Cell: Conviction, Fable 3, Crackdown 2, Alan Wake, and Halo Reach. Excited as I am for a couple of these, a crop of sequels to four well-respected games, a Halo title, and one original IP isn't going to set the world on fire."

I think you'll notice that half of those are not Xbox 360 exclusives and a complete disregard for PC gamers since Microsoft gains absolute $0 for games made for the PC. There aren't even any royalty fees associated with having the GFW logo on the PC box. So, the _only_ benefit for Microsoft with games going to the PC is if it keeps them from going to Nintendo and/or the PS3 by doing so.

Microsoft wants everything on the 360 and they market it as if the PC doesn't exist when they get a chance because they make all of their money off of royalty fees on each game disc pressed on the Xbox 360. They don't see any of that money for games made on the PC and sad enough the #1 reason that people make so many games for the 360 instead of just the PC is because Microsoft has moved away from the PC so that it's really not cost-effective for larger productions (most RPGs) to just put a game out on the PC.

Want proof? Ask yourself when was the last time you saw a Windows OS logo at the end of a game commercial on TV or gametrailers.com compared to the Xbox 360 logo? The 360 logo flash at the end of those commercials doesn't even have the word Microsoft in it.

Awesome can't wait to play Alan Wake AAA graphical beast makes some console games look out dated and the thing i like about Alan Wake it's not a QTE game that's a plus.

Convas3195d ago (Edited 3195d ago )

MGR, why do you do this? Is it that you like it when Xbot and Droid constantly do war? What's wrong with peace and happiness? Can't we all just live together happily, each enjoying whatever game floats his boat? /increasethepeaceyo

How sad. When will Fanboy's learn? When will you learn MGR?

peeps3195d ago

"Alan Wake is it's not a QTE game that's a plus. "

did u throw the same hate back when farenheit was released... oh wait that game was multiplatform

OmarJA-N4G3195d ago

It's not QTE, it's a Silent Hill/Alone in the Dark wanna be. :)

Ares84PS33195d ago

The only one I would love to have on the PS3 from the 360 exclusive list. Looks very good. Lucky 360 owners :)

Convas3195d ago

Wewt! It's about damn time. Can't wait to see how this one plays out.
