First Armored Core 5 Screenshots

PlayStation University has uploaded the first screenshots of Armored Core 5.

They ain't screen shots. Which isn't the same as using in-game assets to make a trailer or screen shots.

Currently, given that FromSoft has *ALWAYS* used CG in their launch trailers leaking in actual gameplay into later ones, I call it CG.

Be nice if that were actual in-game, but the explosions are just too detailed.

I kinda agree with Godmars, I love Armored Core series but I know the series has never been a real powerhouse, with many technical problems. And as From Software enjoy making CG intros, it is possible those screenshots are CGI and not actual gameplay. So yep, until we see a HUD and gameplay footage, people shouldn't feel rejoiced too quickly.

Considering that some of the pics do look like they've got in-game artifacts in them I can see the confusion, but what other game has had rain in it of that detail?

The controls for AC4-AC4A are pretty upto date especially at the fast pace action of the game. Bladers online need tight controls and very good build to dodge/turn and gather heaps of energy for their boosters.

I think Armored Core would be a good series if it were a strategy based series like Front Mission. I just want a mech series like Front Mission 1-5 or Ring of Red. Why did SquareEnix have to change the Front Mission series?

armored core series needs a reboot, keep the same concept coz it's good imo, upgrading and tweaking ur mech has been the selling point 4 me, I just want them 2 do alot of gameplay enhancements, the gameplay mechanic was a letdown 2 me, feels shallow and yet hard 2 play due to the controls that never felt satisfying 4 me, make the arenas bigger and the levels longer, most levels were small and short, reminds me of spec ops in MW2, u can add a mode like that with small missions, but keep the main campaign big and epic, if kojima worked on this series im sure he'll make it into a blockbuster series, so here u go, another opinion.

They did change the controls for AC4 to a more arcade-like feel. Less sim-like, more like an action game. I myself found perfection in the AC3 controls (or it was perhaps Another Age, not sure), basically the PS2 era AC games. They introduced the dual analog aiming, and you didn't have to do so much up and down aiming with the shoulder buttons. This felt perfect for me. AC4 was too much of a pick-up and play type deal. There's only so much ZOE I can handle in my AC games, even though ZOE is also another really big favorite of mine. I like the separation of the two.

The mechs are being downsized. Half-sized. They can and probably should drop any and all reference to the larger mechs.

If they do some other stuff, allow players to use regular vehicles, use them as active support with some decent AI, then they've got something.

Try AC4Answer you might like it better than AC4. Trust me, i hated AC4 with a passion but after playing AC4A i changed my mind and went back to my tweaking for hours and testing. It takes a while to get used to how Stabilizers work, it's not really needed unless you're really really hardcore on turning fast in one direction or to stabilize heavier weapons on one side of your Next.

Anyway, you'll learn to love it. The fast pace combat is a great thing. It's intimidating at first but if you play it, you'll find it's easier to control your mech and use your defensive and offensive weapons easier with the easier layout without having to change weapons too much.

If you loved AC3: Silent Line's vs mode or whatever, you'll love AC4A. Throw away AC4 that game is a useless turd. Hopefully they dont F-up on AC5 and then try to re-release it like AC4 again.

The AC series (for me) always had CG intros that could only be described as eye-candy. I would find myself watching them every time I would turn on the games. Even though the series has been on a downhill slope compared to the older games, I still have hope that AC5 will pull them out of the sinking pit I found the series in as of late. *Fingers crossed*

Ya, I know what you mean, Chromehounds had great quality same with Demon Souls, Ninja Blade was not too bad ether. But AC is kind of there main game, would love too see them go all out on it for once.

I'm hoping AC5 will be bigger, longer, and have more enemies. Also, i want full co-op. AC4A had several missions you cant play with your friend.

I would be totally happy with HD remakes of the old games with added weapons and the PS2-era control schemes. That would probably keep my AC appetite at bay for years. I might even forgive them for AC4 and For Answer.

AC is a very low budget game now back int he PS2 days they had Agetec as the publisher and AC was one of there best money makers, then for AC4 tye where with Sega, then AC4 For Answer with Ubisoft..

I'm not sure if Ubi is going to be publishing this one or not.

I like the old AC games much more where it was more like a simulator then an over the top arcade game. Hell the last one hardly had any good parts and the story blew. Wish they would go back too the AC2 and Silent Line roots. Remember how SL had that AI AC you could train? That would be cool for some kind of online mode.

Hopefully the campaign and missions will be longer. There are other things the series can improve on, but the these are the things I really want to change.
