Quantum Theory could be a 2010 Sleeper Game

While most gamers are anticipating Triple A games, such as God of War 3, Mass Effect 2, Final Fantasy XIII in 2010, there are a huge number of gamers that could care less for these anticipated games, and simply head to their local Gamestop each week, to ask the Gamestop personnel the question; "what is the latest hot game? The Gamestop personnel know that it is a slow release Tuesday, and promotes the latest release, even if it is a low grade game.

Then come the complaints, the hate for the games, the hate for the local video game seller for talking the unwise in to buying this incredibly stupid, worth $5, lame piece of shit! But hey, what if the game actually turns out to be a good game? What do the gamers say then? They play it, they love it, they recommended to their friends, but does that game still have the same recognition as a God of War 3, or Mass Effect 2?

The game is a total rip off. Now, I've learned to not make fun of games since Demon's Souls unknowingly became my favorite game of 09 but no one has ever praised this game, it hasn't been receiving good previews, it's a complete clone of Gears, and overall, it looks very run-of-the-mill.

Very few PS3 fanboys tried to hype this as a Gears killer but even they knew it was a total rip off.

If I want Gears on PS3, I just turn on my 360 and play Gears, cuz the sad truth is it'll never come to PS3, and it's actually a good franchise.

The only thing Quantum Theory has in its favor is the strangely anime look, which could be more fresh than the typical "realistic end of the world in three colors". And the graphics in general are nice. But as Dragon Age has taught us, you don't need good graphics to be a fantastic overall and completely modern-day-relevant game.

Quantum Theory, I don't care how sleek your body is and how ample your assets are, if you don't have the moves I'm kicking you outta my bed.

Truth be told, I think this game will die a horrible death at retail. Its being released with little fan fare and in a rather busy time. If this game is remotely good I will be surprised. The graphics and animation seem quite poor. Perhaps I'll be proven wrong but as of right now, I also agree with sonarus.

I hope this game turns out well, but I'm not very encouraged.

My distinct impression is that Quantum will either be surprisingly well done or firmly cemented in mediocrity, and I'm leaning towards the latter.

It may not turn out terrible, but it's looking very forgettable when compared to the abundance of high quality shooters already out there.

No matter what others will say I still plan to at least give it a rental. Hopefully someone else does the same thing and hopefully it will have online co-op [Though guessing from Gamestop's website I'd say it doesn't...] Though anyway rental at most for me here...

I believe it was confirmed by the developers that it would have no form of online or off-line Co-op. The reason given was that it would break the balance of the game they were trying to achieve (if I remember correctly).

The real case is that this game is Tecmo's attempt to bring a game with a more western feel to their shores. Unfortunately, the Japanese people are a very shy people and find it difficult to interact with strangers even in an online fashion. I'll take that as the reason for omitting Co-Op at this point. Though since it is coming to the Xbox 360 now we may see some form of online before a western release giving that in that territory online gameplay is almost a requirement.

I was interested up until i seen gameplay, TECMO talked it up way too much saying it would use all the power of the ps3 and then when they released gameplay it looked like gears 1 on pc running on the lowest settings.

People hate it because it's trying to capitalize on another IP by copying it exactly. Its also multiplatform, so I see no reason why anyone that owns a Xbox 360 would play this game. Also, for anyone that owns a Playstation 3 and wants a Gears of War type of game so badly should just buy the actual version of this game, Gears of War.

I don't believe that people hate on it for being a direct copy. If that were the case, as someone pointed out, then Dante's Inferno would be in clear trouble. I believe that it is because it is just not up to par. It clearly doesn't look as good as it's "copy". It appears that it won't match the gameplay standards, although I will withhold my final judgment for when the game is actually released. All in all, it is completely average in a gaming season that has several above average to stellar releases. It also think that it went multiplatform because they thought that 360 owners that love Gears might go for it, even if it is sub par. As for the idea of buying a 360 for Gears...well...if that hasn't happened already, I doubt that it will. I personally find Gears very fun...not worth buying a system for. Neither is any ONE of the many PS3 titles I own. All of them together though...a whole other thing!!!*L*

its not the fact it has similarities.. its the fact it is like 80% gears of war lol, the movement, strafing, sprinting, looking, shooting, killing, the cover, the design lol the only thing that has looked slightly cool is throwing your female partner who seems to have some badass moves and thats it, and graphically it should be ashamed it looks super dried out :( if they stuck with the concept and kept gears out of there brains making it it probably would be good lol

I must say I agree %100.You guys are bashing this game now but when its time for release I guarantee that most of you would have bought this game or at least rented it.Its not the finished product first of all so its hard to make assumptions yet about this game.I expect alot of disagrees but truth will be told when march 30th comes around.I personally think it has alot of potential and yes it does rip off gears of war but it does have its own marketing tools to sell this game.The castle that continous to grow and shift shape is really neat which will bring new elements of gameplay into it.I can go on about the positives because im not narrow minded like most of you who just judge on comparisons to other games and one video thats not even a finished product.Im sure I will be playing multiplayer with you once it comes out.keep gamming and be more openminded about other games before they come out.

I THINK THIS GAME SHOULD HAVE BEEN RELEASED LAST YEAR, AND MIGHT SUFFER IN SALES.

The reason why I say this is because of the launch date now, especially if it is pushed back at all. God of War 3, MAG, Heavy Rain, Bioshock 2, Alan Wake, and Battlefield: BC 2, ar all around this time. Where will Quantum Theory make it's money?? (I didn't even get on the possible time table for Halo: Reach, GT5, Final Fantasy, Xbox 360 Natal, or The Last Gaurdian.) Quantum Theory might end up like Demon Souls.... a great game, that no one play/buy's.

Usually multiplats sell more but they didn't think this one through.PS3 fans would say "Damn I thought this game was gonna take advantage of the hardware and outdo Microsoft's Gears...oh well" and 360 fans would be like "Meh a gears clone with cheesy tag moves and no chainsaw...not interested *goes back to playing gears*" Usually I dont care about a game going multiplat as it benefits the developer but why screw over the people who were looking for a uber powerful game(PS3) and put your game on the same console as its PRIMARY COMPETITOR (360)...it was just plain dumb they were blinded by potential sales and didn't think that one through. I've seen some videos and the game doesn't look interesting at all. I will just wait for a demo.
