Game Revolution writes: "Bookworm, for the uninitiated, is a simple concept: You're given a screen filled to the brim with letters, and you cobble words out of the madness, making sure all of the letters in the word are touching each other. That's really all there is to it. Popcap, builders of beautiful simplicity, have ported what once was a PC game (whether in a pop-out window or the full download game) to the little handheld that could. And with it being a game full'a words, holding the DS in small-paper-back fashion is entirely fitting."
It’s been a few years since PopCap Games has released a new Bookworms title, but it looks like something new may be on the way for the word-forming computer puzzle game, according to new domain registrations by PopCap’s parent EA. On November 1, 2012, Electronic Arts registered several names like BookwormHeroes.com, BookwormHeroes.org, and even BookwormHeroes.co.uk.
Bookworm isn’t the most inviting of titles. Arguably, it could be one of the least appetising of game names ever released. However first impressions can be deceiving and word games do have a tendency to be fun and competitive. It’ll be interesting to find out whether Lex the bookworm can keep all of us engaged for longer than the usual word search in your local paper.
Pocket Gamer: PopCap has been on a bit of a Nintendo DS bender recently, bringing a number of its classic casual titles to the dual-screen handheld.
One of them is Bookworm, a game about making words from tiles, rather than an action title revolving around gobbling your way through books. Shame.
