Ubisoft: Beyond Good & Evil 2 is "still in production"

VG247: Speaking with Gamekult, Ubisoft France boss Geoffroy Sardin has revealed that Beyond Good and Evil 2 is still in production.Good news, innit.Asked if both the pig-based sequel and I Am Alive were still on the go, he said (via translations):"They are still in production every two …"The last anything was heard on BG&E2 was when the game was, apparently, put on hold last August. Some leaked footage, apparently of the game, came out nearly three weeks before E3 last year. The game was first shown at Ubidays 2008, but since then, nothing official has come from Ubisoft in terms of media.

The story is too old to be commented.

The BG&E2 part is rather short, only one line in the whole interview.
There are however some interesting points here. I'll translate:

Q: Why is Splinter Cell Conviction not on PS3?
A: We're working since long time with Microsoft on optimization of this format. It's been three years and a half that it is under development. It's a choice, which is not only tied to historic, but also to a specific programming method. And it is right that our valuation on Xbox 360 is pretty strong.

Q: Natal-compatible and PS3's Magic Wand-compatible games will of course be planned for 2010 at Ubisoft, but can we have an idea of the number of titles planned for each peripherals?
A: For Natal, every Ubisoft studios have received a development kit. That means we invest very much on this technology, which we already were mastering even before Natal got announced. Before Microsoft patent Natal and the motion recognition technology, we had that technology at Ubisoft in our R&D studios. So we were already mastering all of this, and we think we have a pretty big advantage compared to the rest of the market.

Hence Yves Guillemot's decision to mandate every studios in order to work on this technology as soon as we received Microsoft's development kits. As soon as there is a new application, it's our strategy, we want to be the first to have a good experience curve and continue to propose every time the best quality. Microsoft announced at CES that Natal will release in the end of the year, we, we believe it will be for mid-November and Thanksgiving, and we should have around ten titles ready.

Q: Do you have any idea about the price of Natal?
A: Not at all.

Q: And how about the Magic Wand? Where are you with that?
A: I have less informations about the development. Sony has been later than Microsoft.

Natal without the processor is one big marketing ploy to make you underestimate it..

I believe it will be in the final product and work amazingly.
