This article discusses the direction Rockstar are taking with the next iteration in the Max Payne franchise and the concerns facing the future of the series.
OH MY GOD. Thank you for reminding me Max Payne is still coming! I totally forgot about it to be honest. I'm looking forward to MP3 considering how much i loved MP1 and MP2.
I think Rockstar mixed up 'Max Payne' with 'John McClane'.
lol for a second i thought u wrote 'John McCain'.. i was like wtf? then i remembered Die Hard. XD
Having a game with John McCain would be brilliant...bringing in his own change..
I'll wait until I've seen more than a few pictures before I jump to any conclusions. I'm excited about it though. When there is no difference, people complain, when you change to much, they complain. As long as it's good, I'll be happy.
It's not that people complain too often about drastic change where change is needed. A Max Payne 3 is a well-welcomed addition to a lot of stale franchises out there, but did it really have to be at the cost of losing everything that made the series original in the first place? When I first seen Max for MP3 -- like the other poster mentioned -- Die Hard came to mind and Splinter Cell: Double Agent. The whole Brazil thing seems way off from the noir settings of the first two games; and any logical semblance the game might have to the previous story seems completely thrown away in place of this pseudo-redo, sequel. I'm going to wait and see how this turns out but it already looks like much of what the author discusses in the article fits into what they're doing with the series.
Rockstar just ruined the whole Max Payne series...just took the whole dark story away for some colorful crap..
That would be an interesting take...and refreshing to see if the publisher/game dev goes this route.
