GamerDad writes: "The Sky Crawlers: Innocent Aces is an arcade dogfight simulation game for the Wii. It's also based on a Japanese anime cartoon movie. The film is set in an alternate reality where there are no wars, so companies stage fake battles to keep the peace. A new breed of pilots is now being used to fly the planes: genetically engineered kids who never age. Yeah it doesn't make any sense to me either. But hey, neither do most other anime cartoons. All you really need to know is that the team behind Namco Bandai's Ace Combat series worked on this game, so this is essentially Ace Combat on the Wii. And trust me, that's a GOOD thing!"
Ace Combat’s creators discuss the 25th anniversary and history and future of the series in this interview.
Never got to play Ace Combat6, that game should have never been exclusive. I don't even think it sold well being only on the XBox 360.
So glad Ace Combat 6 and 7 will be backwards compatible on Xbox Series X. I hope both AC6 and 7 will be Enhanced on Series X with HDR and 4k
Classy Gamer reviews The Sky Crawlers: Innocent Aces, the latest Wii air combat game by Project Aces, creators of the Ace Combat series.
Sky Crawlers suffers from a faulty main control scheme, but proves very enjoyable with a classic or GameCube controller, bringing to the Wii an engrossing and deep story, crowned by anime cutscenes produced by one of the most acclaimed studios in Japan.
Nintendo Life writes: "Air combat games are a rarity on the Wii, which is quite surprising considering the tilt sensors on the Remote and Nunchuk have been demonstrated to be the most reliable form of motion control available on the Wii. Thankfully Namco Bandai have decided to step into the breach with Project Aces' excellent movie tie-in Sky Crawlers: Innocent Aces."
does anyone know if it has any split screen modes?
