LusoGamer has a new video about BioShock 2 Gameplay. Nobody Hurts My Daddy Trailer. Enjoy!
Is it just me or does this game have no hype behind it. The sequel no one wanted, and BioShock didn't need one. Just another company trying to cash in on a good thing and ending up ruining it. I hope the lack of sales will lead to them killing the series early and not making it worse with a 3rd one.
Yeah, it really doesn't have any hype at all. I LOVED the first one, and I want to play the second one, but I just don't know if it can live up to the first one. Bioshock, and Rapture, just had such a charm to it. I'm also a bit hesitant of the sequel because Ken Levine and 2K Boston (I think) aren't making it. Finally, it's also releasing at a really bad time for me. I'm still playing through my Christmas games (Dragon Age: Origins and Fallout 3 GOTY), and then Mass Effect 2 is releasing only a couple weeks prior, and that is easily my most anticipated game right now. I guess I'm playing the 'wait and see' game with it. I'm sure I'll eventually play it, but it definitely won't be at launch like the first one.
Ok Darkfiber, we all know your the conductor of the Bioshock 2 hate-train. No need to comment on every article. That aside I feel your concern about it being "more of the same." It does have a 2 on the end after all, how much different can it be? The truth is every preview says the combat is more fun, and the settings are every bit as detailed and atmospheric as the first. So what's the big deal if it's similar to the first?
There was hype for the game last year with the advertising campaign. It stopped when the game was delayed. I can't wait for it. I played Bioshock 1 less than a year ago and this looks interesting as well.
bioshock for sure is in my top5 this gen, but all the worrying is valid the atmosphere and story pacing was crucial in the first game which had alot to do with some deep, disturbing and gifted input from Levine. I get the feeling this will be more about regurgitation.
