If You Could Only Play One Game For the Rest of Your Life, What Would it Be?

From Gamervision.com: "Imagine this: you're stranded on a desert island, having survived a shipwreck with one console and a sole game, and you've somehow found a source of electricity. Or perhaps you're living in a dystopian future where video games have been largely outlawed, though each civilian is allowed to keep a single artifact from the video game era. Pretend that you could only play one game for the rest of your life. There's no multiplayer, but it can be on any system, be it console, handheld, or a computer. What would you pick? What is the game that, above all others, you simply could not live without?"

I'm going to have to say Halo 3. The multiplayer could keep me busy forever.

Nice job, bub.

young juice5217d ago (Edited 5217d ago )

"there's no multiplayer" no halo 3 fo you

Edit: @Alcon Caper
damn you beat me to it

joydestroy5217d ago (Edited 5217d ago )

i don't think i could pick just one. it would either be Mass Effect 2 or God of War III

edit: if there were a gun to my head, i'd pick Mass Effect 2. i'm sure it's gonna be longer than GoW3

ico925217d ago

mine would be LittleBigPlanet the game is limited to your imagination the game allows you to make your own little game within the game.

Genesis55217d ago

The game of the year deluxe version of Oblivion. It might just take me the rest of my life to complete every single quest.

Blaze9295217d ago

Would definitely go with San Andreas probably...or some RPG. Maybe Mass Effect.

young juice5217d ago

it would have to b between me2 or lbp. maybe mgs4 no rpgfps's. aarrgh dont make me choose.... ok ummm i got it syphon filter 2...definatly

bnaked5217d ago (Edited 5217d ago )

Little Big Planet.

you can play and create together with your psn friends forever.. It's endless fun.. And it's also like a community platform where you can meet your friends and can write or talk about sh!t..

edit: oh i've read the article and they mean without multiplayer.. Don't know err GTA4 or Secret of Mana or world series of Poker lol

Megaton5217d ago

Super Mario World, GTA: Vice City, or Fallout 3.

UnwanteDreamz5217d ago

DEMON SOULS because I never have enough time to play it.

stb5217d ago

A racing game+little big planet horizon!!!=modnation racer or gran turismo 5.

Eamon5217d ago

LMAO, I will have to agree with UnwanteDreamz.

Demon's Souls takes too much time in one's life. So that would be my pick.

But the multiplayer game I'd pick to play forever is a close tie between Modern Warfare 2 and Halo 3.

bartkuz5217d ago

For me it would be GTA:SA or any FF. Just can't make a decision

LionheartAce5217d ago

Chrono Trigger. I can play it forever as I often do and still love it.

Greywulf5217d ago

I'd take Gran Turismo 5. Or Little Big planet, could at least keep making stuff.

JsonHenry5217d ago

Baldurs Gate II; Shadow of Amn

wokhedinn5217d ago

"I'm going to have to say Halo 3. The multiplayer could keep me busy forever."

"i don't think i could pick just one. it would either be Mass Effect 2 or God of War III "

I think I'd have to choose between APB and The Old Republic.

johnnywit5217d ago (Edited 5217d ago )

@ lionheart
I totally agree. I just beat chrono trigger again and I have been playing it since 95. I love that game. The story, characters, art, music, and the new game plus never gets old.

ChrisW5217d ago

The one game I'd play for the rest of my life? --> Pong.

Why? Because I occasionally play it to this date.

InfectedDK5217d ago (Edited 5217d ago )

I think that is really a cool thing to think about for a sec..
I think I might choose Fifa 2010 because it never gets old, it's fun, it's serious and you can play tournaments alone or with others offline..
Although I would miss a lot of other games very fast..

mal_tez925217d ago

Played almost daily for 2 years without getting bored of it. I can probably play it for a lot longer.

Elvfam5115217d ago

MGS or MGS2 Sons of Liberty

Darkstorn5217d ago

One of the Metal Gear Solid games. So many secrets...

Hanif-8765217d ago (Edited 5217d ago )

I'd take Gran Turismo 5 because its gonna take 100+ hours to complete. It also features 2 player split screen and the rumored track editor and over a 1000 cars to choose from, what more could i ask for!

jwatt5217d ago

Twisted metal black, or GTA vice city. I would have to say though that LBP would make the best choice because with all that extra time you would end up creating some creative levels.

Tachyon_Nova5217d ago

After reading the articles title I thought, would have to be something with a good MP, but apparently it can't be. Assassin's Creed 2 was aswesome but I don't think I could play it for much longer, the new Ratchet is still keeping me interested after 3 playthroughs. But I'll go with GT5 because that game will have a play time upwards of several hundred hours, even without the MP.

PLAYSTATIONGENRATION5217d ago (Edited 5217d ago )

Would be it for me....sorry guys....or fallout 3

thegood335217d ago

Dragon Age. Greatest RPG ever.

snipermk05217d ago

You guys are all losers. I'd prolly pick a sex sim since you know you're prolly gonna ALWAYS need it. :D

aaron58295217d ago

Provided i can have my wheel... i'll say GT5.

Man, i played GT4 non stop until the day i bought my ps3... so yea... GT5 was an easy choice for me.

badz1495217d ago

my most played games since I don't even remember when

ia_studio5217d ago

demons souls or Little Big planet either one is just fine I can't have enough of either.
the only problem is that I don't think there's thech support in the desserted island or electricity so WTF.

Microsoft Xbox 3605217d ago (Edited 5217d ago )

I'm gonna have to say LBP. That game has enormous replay value with or without online gameplay. The create mode with a little imagination does wonders.

Fishy Fingers5217d ago

Counter Strike Source for me. Never get's old. Plus being a PC title, the MODs would keep you busy for ever.

Luckily, we don't have to pick one though.

theEnemy5217d ago

you're going to play with stupid bots for the rest of your life ?

manwich255217d ago

Borderlands or Forza Motorsport 3

cpuchess5217d ago

Absolutely...Any of the good large open world games for me.

Alcon Caper5217d ago

Pretty much any Blizzard Game, really.

EKWB reportedly plagued with financial disarray many gaming pc's left without parts

EK Cooling allegedly has slipped itself into a hot soup of seemingly endless financial woes, where it has not paid its staff, suppliers, and contractors for many months as the company is facing liquidity problems and a surplus of inventory left unsold, stuck in the warehouse for a more extended period. Gamers Nexus investigated these claims made by former and current personnel, where he found trails of unpaid bills lasting as long as three to four months and unpaid raises that accumulated for almost a year.

EK Water Blocks has two entities—a Slovenian-based headquarters and a US-based subsidiary, EK Cooling Solutions. Steve narrated the series of events in detail, stating that the company was reportedly irresponsible and negligent regarding payment. Consequently, partners and employees are forced to share the burden of alleged mismanagement. It all begins with its extensive range of products, leading to a surplus of goods. EK has over 230 water blocks, 40 liquid cooling kits, 85 reservoirs, 40 pumps, 73 radiators, and 212 miscellaneous accessories.

Yes this is not about video games directly but indirectly this will impact the pc gaming/workstation space hard.

This company is massive one of two in the water cool space so if it goes poof then thousands out there have no spare parts or half built computers.

SO yeah i know not about a video game but think of it as amd leaving the pc space but this is ekwb that could be leaving water cooling in the pc space

Jayz2cents a supporter of there products also has issues

As someone that has built a watercooling rig. EK is big, but there's so many numerous watercooling part companies out there. EK's stuff isn't exactly amazing quality for the price compared to others either, it's just ok. Much like Corsair. The impact would be negligible long term. For perspective the majority of my parts are XSPC, at most I use EK for my gpu waterblocks and fittings. Both easily replaceable.
