Eurogamer Czech has got the first details plus two artworks from EA/Criterion's upcoming next racing title, Need for Speed: Out of the Law.
this could be the nfs we've all been waiting for although I wish it was hot pursuit
Does anyone know what engine they will be using? Its Criterion we are talking about. Im pretty sure they might use their Burnout engine instead. I dont see why.
lol the NFS that we all had been waiting for was released a long time ago. It's been down hill ever since imo But I did love Burnout paradise VERY VERY VERY much.. (best racing game i've played) So i'll put my faith in good hands, go get em Criterion
motorcycles!? Oh snap.
yeah, this look promising. just hope its not like mostwanted..sucks THIS LOOK LIKE A POSSIBLE HOTPURSUIT 3
So it was Criterion!
yeah the NFS franchise was basically handed to them last year i remember reading. this is what i've been waiting for.
Those pics look kind of fake, but hopefully it's true. Criterion is win. It sounds like it could be a worthy sequel to Need for Speed Underground 2 which it needed police chases.
wow this is great to hear, as long as the dlc roadmaps is Criterion's and not EA (Dragon Age anyone?)
Lets see if turns out good like before, hopefully this is a comeback for the series
from what I read, Shift was a great game, shouldn't that be the comeback? Or am I missing something here?
NFS Shift wasn't open world. Other than that, I thought it was a decent game..
Yeah, Shift was really good, but it was very different than the others NFS ya know? I mean, good but similar to the other games like Underground and MW
Well, the original Need for Speeds weren't open world. Need for Speed: Shift is the closest thing to the original games in a long time as it features no open world and exotic cars.
Hmm, I see your point... well, since Shift worked, I think this game can work too, hopefully they don't make some mistakes fans didn't like from past games
I wasn't a big fan of shift. It tried really hard to be Gran Turismo, and while I'm all for some GT style racing, it's not what I have come to expect from NFS. I realize that NFS started out as a "closed course" style racer with arcade and realistic elements combined, but I've grown to love the open world illegal street racing. Underground 2 is probably my favorite in the series, with Most Wanted coming in at a very close second. It's like The Fast and The Furious without the (arguably) crappy acting. Carbon was a let down thanks to the teammate thing, and I didn't even try Undercover after reading every single review that talked about how poorly they messed that up. I had no desire to play Pro Street when I found out they were making it a legit street racer, though I did end up buying Shift on a whim after reading some nice reviews that I now think are kind of misleading. Oh well, that's what I get for not taking advantage of my Gamefly account. Honestly, I am excited to have the series go back to an open world setting. And having Criterion just makes it that much better. Burnout Paradise was awesome, and I can't wait to see what they do with the series.
The BMW on the pic looks like the one from Most Wanted, maybe a MW sequel?
No it doesn't look like it. It IS the one from Most Wanted. As soon as i saw that pic i knew instantly that that was the same BMW from Most Wanted. To me Most Wanted is best NFS game ever, it was awesome and if it is a sequel to MW that would be a first day buy for me.
...but if it's like Most Wanted, it'll be a good game. NFS needs to make a comeback... I know it's arcady but they made a push for simulation with Shift... Gran Turismo will be occupying most of people's time in 2010, so we'll have to see how this game shapes up. It has to be a really great racer to lure me away from GT5. (I am not comparing the games at all).
NFS Most Wanted 2? ·Need For Speed Most Wanted 2: BMW M3 Guy Revenge· lol
NFS: Carbon was the alleged sequel to Most Wanted :)
You're right ·Need For Speed Most Carbon Wanted 3: BMW M3 Guy Revenge·
Nfs + Burnout = win
Yet, another Need for Speed game i'll skip. Shift is my favorite NFS, I play it to death. Seeing this makes me loose all hopes for the NFS franchise.....again.
Sounds fake to me. - The source is a russian fansite. - The car in the first picture is the same as in most wanted. - And Read at the bottom right hand corner in both pictures, it says: "Street racing is not a crime / Well it is but F** it" http://f.imagehost.org/0061...
BURNOUT: NEED FOR SPEED They should had called it that.... btw speaking of Burnout, those this mean BURNOUT is done for the generation? or will Criterion make another one? since I hear BLACK 2 is coming after this NFS desperate move by EA.
Looks very fake.. But can be true, ya never know.
hope fully its a mix of most wanted shift and underground. if it is its a first day buy
I sense EA are doing an "Activision" with NFS. Next game after this will probably be developed by Slightly Mad again and be more simulator oriented. A very smart decision imo. If it's true. I think this is fake.
dang, if this going to be another most wanted wanna-be I'll skip it. have not played any NFS game since hotpursuit 2 & underground. why all these fking open world races???... they need to go back to close circuit style racing.
now hotpursuit/underground/shift modes would be awesome!!!!
Criterion's just confirmed that this info is a fake - http://twitter.com/Criterio... 'NFS stories on the net today - 100% FAKE!'
According to their twitter (posted an hour ago): "NFS stories on the net today - 100% FAKE!" http://twitter.com/Criterio... Anyone tell me what's not true? this game?
Since they ever started working with that late company called Acclaim, n none of their games dissapointed me, I love Burnout and Black!!!!
