Check out some brand new, beautiful screenshots of New Super Mario Bros. Wii taken in 720p.
Screens looks cool, i still haven't bought the game but i am really looking forward to it.
It is a great game! I grew up with the entire Mario series and this game brings pieces of them all into one game. I give it a 10/10 and that is rare for a wii game.
looks pretty good especially the backgrounds they look really sharp
What's the point? The Wii doesn't do 720p. Good game though.
Excellent game! :)
you are correct, the max resolution of the wii is 480p.
this is what the next nintendo system will look like.
Is this from the the dolphin emulator? it's not fair teasing these, when the wii doesn't render it. they should add an attachment on the back.
^^ You are correct, it's from the emulator. Someone always ends up taking screen shots rendered in 720p whenever a big name title comes out for the wii. It's crazy, the difference from 480p to 720p. Looks nice.
Nice, looks very clean.
I got it running on 1080p on 60 frames and it looks good only the controls are alot harder.
Why? you can attach a Wii-mote trough BT and use it as a normal wii controller.
are you using an emulator?
Ye true forgot about that to be honest:P
On pc you can. You cannot run 1080p on the wii.
So everytime somebody breaks the EULA and uses the Dolphin emulator articles will be posted with screenshots? Can't wait for Nintendo's cease and desist
Yeah i know the wii is 480P really hope nintendos next console will support 1080P. Cause the wii just doesnt look as good on my tv as on a sdtv.
nonsense like that belongs in the open zone.
I just wonder what the Wii could have been if it was HD from the start...
Had it been HD from the start it might have sold over 60 million units by now.
It could have been the fastest selling system ever!
Let's say the hardware needed to up the output to 720P also upped the cost of the Wii to $349 - $399. I honestly don't see the casual crowd embracing it at that price. Part of the original appeal of the Wii was how relatively inexpensive it was. HD Wii probably would have tanked in 2006.
This is what Wii should been
Eh. It's sharper, but I don't really think it makes a world of difference. It's a 2D Mario platformer with a simple graphical style. Those tend to age alright. Do people go around saying "man, I wish Mario 3 was in high def?" No, they just say that the game is awesome. NSMB is no different.
Those screens look nice, but I still think they should've made the game more cartoony like Yoshi's Island or Super Mario World.
It needs a total re-imagining. new super mario is my least played wii game, i played wii sport resort more.
The Dolphin emulator is the only thing that can pull this off and that's that. Which is sad that hackers are more talented than Nintendo's staff who actually created the hardware. A shame that I can run all these games in higher rez than 1080P and the wii can't even do 720P. :( That's Nintendo's sad in the pants face.
"Which is sad that hackers are more talented than Nintendo's staff who actually created the hardware." Hey moron, your wii can't do hd but your cpu can because you paid more for a graphics card. Nintendo pays ATI to make them cards and to think they couldn't have just asked for a more expensive one is boneheaded.
You beat me to it, bob. It's not just hacking a game on a console...it's having a frickin' emulator to boot. (And it's not like the Dolphin emulator worked that great even a year or two ago. I remember the clips of Prime 3 on Dolphin, and the framerate was atrocious.)
One of the best games on Wii.
