Gamezebo: The Fall Trilogy - Chapter 1: Separation Review

One of the major drawbacks of point-and-click adventure games is that the obtuse puzzles can often be frustrating. It's easy to get stuck, which can put a damper on the things the genre does well: namely telling great stories with great visuals. With the first chapter in its trilogy The Fall, Kheops Studio attempts to remove much of this frustration and create a game that is more accommodating to new players. And while this makes things a bit too easy at times, The Fall - Chapter 1: Separation is also a solid entry in what looks to be a promising new adventure series.

Square-Go: The Fall Trilogy Chapter 1 : Separation Review

Narratives for this genre of game are always pretty inconsequential, which is just as well as in this first episode you play an unnamed man who has awoken inside an ancient temple (probably South American as it has a certain Aztec type atmosphere to it) with a hat, a whip (how very Indy of you), total amnesia and a desire to escape. That's all you really know, although you will experience flashbacks now and again that reveal more details about you and your family as you progress to the exit.
