Capcom's Recent Wii Comments a Bit Out of Line

It is understood that there have been other efforts by Capcom such as Dead Rising: Chop til you drop. But honestly, that game is horrible as compared to the original. They just don't get that you can create the same proven gameplay on the Wii in a lower resolution and get results. There always has to be something left out, or something ridiculous added. They don't understand, that it's rather insulting to be offered less than what is normal, and yet be expected to give them the support of normal. They don't understand that with some games, you just cannot achieve the perfect balance between new gamer and experienced gamer that games such as Super Mario Galaxy do.

When you target 'Hardcore gamers' with 'Gamers games' you'd best make sure that what you are giving them is your best effort. Capcom cannot rightfully claim to have done so very often with the Wii so far. Continued ports of old games, and second and third rate efforts will no longer fly. Especially during a worldwide economic downturn, where quality for your cash means everything. That, is the change in the market.

I think some people are only seeing the bad side for the Wii but there is a good side (RE4 sold well, MW:R is a 2 years old port without advertising and it's selling well, etc). Everytime a mediocre game or an on-rails is released, everyone complains about how it sold bad but I DOUBT that games like Madworld (niche game) or The Conduit would sell well on the x360 or PS3, and before you start saying something about this post, take a look at this post:

Hisru you don't get it the first poster is a troll or fanboy of hd gaming. Any success on the wii is believed to be bad for gaming. Yet in reality they are two different markets. The wii is really in the console market while the hd consoles are in limbo. You can call it console or pc yet they are in the middle of that. Intact the ps3 is fighting against the very market it choose to be a part of the pc market. If sony's pr really did their job they would not be calling their system a console.

Seriously haters should understand hd gaming is going no where simply becuase it is easy to milk and they have very defined bars and hoops to jump over and thur. Typicaly graphics are some form of raw power that the untech can praise. Pure violence works too along with sports and sims of any kind.

Many people in the media or butt hurt over the wii not failing also. It's not that the wii is doing bad it just that the wii shows how out of touch many in the industry are. Wouldn't it suck to think you know your fav past time and then wake up with a 180.

Luckly this did happen or many older gamers and talent would have left gaming al together. The hd will wear off and then you have an atari relasp coming. Luckly nintendo makes fun games yet if they only relied on power then this gen would be pretty weak.

I think it's more of a clash of taste. The gaming hardcore has splinter a few times and if you look back nothing kills the games that are just good. For the first time the pong players all the way up to the pc gamers have some thing to play. Yet the hd owners are the only ones complaining.

If any thing will kill your platform is unfun games and complainers. Yet fun games over comes all. Also awards don't make your game fun it only helps your resume if your trying to chase money.

Zak and Wiki sold 300,000 and Okami averaging the same. Those are not bad numbers sure they are not multi million sales but they probably made you profit.

resident evil zero isn't japan only, it came out in NA back in december.

Capcom won't drop support for the wii. They know there's money to be made on the platform.

If you compare it with their HD games, you have DMC4 which wasn't received very well yet sold more than 2 million, same goes for Lost Planet, DR did 1.7, SFIV more than 3 million and RE4 exceeded 4 million. Of-course it's not all good as Bionic Commando flopped.

Capcom shine with hardcore games, and they were never known for making kids/casual/family friendly games, and if you look at the Wii, that's the kind of games that sells on it.

Yeah Capcom should be proud they do have popular games. I think they feel that Nintendo doesn't give their games the "Mario and Sonic" promo. But capcom for the most part is Popular. But their sales should meet their popularity.

Since Capcom is saying this then maybe the PS userbase can forgive them when devil may cry went multi, and also not for making Monster Hunter 3 a ps3 exclusive. Capcom should go sony exclusive with all there games.

The past year i've spent more time on the ps3 ,and for years i stayed pretty much with nintendo everthing supporting most of there games and thrid party.I still love nintendo they are the best at what they do but this past year i can't toss my money at this half ass 3rd party support.I can't play cooking mama or deca sports these are fast cash cows and lets talk about these rail shooters its lazy.The best wii game to date i have played was The conduit.This year i've got 15 ps3 games and 2 wii games and that would of never of happened during the gamecube days.I just played god of war for the frist time about two weeks ago and was like wow i missed out on this.I agree with this hole artcle something not right with nintendo support for 3rd partys or i've grow too old for nintendo.Say what you will but nintendo has never been this family friendly and ive been playing there games since the nes.I think 3rd partys followed suit after the fast buck of wii sports.Sorry for the rant this is by no means a ps3 fanboy rant because ps3 fanboys are some of the worst.

Nah. It's fashionable to hate on the Wii right now (the PS2 got the same type of treatment last gen; it comes with the territory of being on top). So any little snide comment gets blown out of proportion.

Capcom already apologized, and big N and Cap will kiss and make up with MH:Tri. But no one will wanna talk about that, either.

Everybody always gets mad when ever people tell the truth about their respective systems. Nintendo took their own path and have to deal with the good and the bad. Do you really think the companies do this on purpose? They make the game crappy so Nintendo can look bad? All systems have strengths and weaknesses.Nintendo's weakness is the inability to run complex games efficiently . Running Mario is not the same as running Resisdent Evil 5, Uncharted 2 or Bioshock.No matter how bright the colours look, Mario,Zelda and Metriod are not as detailed or complex as they seem to be. So stop the excuses and the drama because Capcom is pointing out the glaring faults of a Wii. They were there from the beginning.

Capcom made the worst DMC and Resident Evil in HD. Meanwhile, RE4 is on every "games of the decade lists". Not many full HD games made those lists but Super Mario Galaxy and Metroid Prime were on those lists!

Yeah ps3 owners hate the truth like most multplatform games suck on the ps3. Hurts doesn't it? Well it's true. Sony IS in 3rd place and ms didn't even make any worthwhile games last year... Ouch!

Nintendo brings back 2d Mario and mplus and that's not even good enough. Well the truth is guys like you will only be happy when nintendo fuxk up like sega. O yeah nintendo has always been family oriented I mean damn their first system was called the famicom ie. Family computer. They havnt changed at all they have just gotten better by going back to the foundation which was console gaming with influences from the arcades.

Let the truth be told Sony and ms would both fail if we put them in the arcade days of 85 till it bust. What killed it? High prices for the consumer and manufactures and game devs.

Sony is burning the candle at both ends just to stay relavant they will burn out. Let's all hope that doesn't happen.

I love my Nintendo nut i must say they HAVE to advertise more for some of these games (specially tatsunok vs Capcom and monster hunter tri)

First of all why does ever one use the word hate? I may dislike Mircosoft and Nintendo's practices and methods but where does hate come in? Don't take it personally. And second,why is everyone going on about Tatsunok vs Capcom? An obviously unbalanced fighter peppered with a few Capcom characters and out dated anime characters that three quarters of the world either doesn't remember,never heard of or don't care about, on a 2D plane with sub-par graphics and bad dubbing whose gameplay and online play will probably be hindered by Nintendo's limitations . What is the attraction?

its got a big buzz, because its coming to the US, thats kind of like JUS coming over. plus its the next vs series, which if u think TvC is lame, then i think you think MvC series is lame. SF4 is not balanced so i guess you think thats lame too.

no fighting game is balanced. but for the UAS they rebalanced everything. its a miracle its coming over plus they added new content too.

In before people take a dump on a great game because a publisher made a comment against there console of choice...oops guess i'm too late.

Some people here need to grow up. I really don't understand why people feel the need to defend the console manufacturers. There big boys, they can handle everyones criticisms themselves they don't need blind fanboys to stick up for them.

The sales weren't great but both Nintendo and Capcom are to blame. Nintendo for partially ignoring there past customers and favouring the casuals and Capcom for ignoring there customers when they asked for an adventure style RE.

Capcom tried to make a game that catered to both casual and hardcore just as nintendo have done with mario and i feel they did it very well with RE:DC. The hardcore market just isn't there on the wii like it is ps3 and 360 so they can't just gamble and ignore the bigger part of the wii's fanbase, the casuals.

At the end of the day both nintendo and capcom have theirselves to blame.

They can see the #s they sold in each region, n I don't blame them.... There's only the Marios, Zeldas, Wii Sports, Wiifits, Guitar Heroes, that sells the most, casual and kids games.... Most Capcom games are Hardcore... They have a good reason to blame Nintendo.... microsoft and Sony give Capcom a lot of support for their games....Lets look at it, I would say Monster Hunter would sell better on the Wii in Japa, every other region would b a flop.... Capcom wants their games to sell well everywhere, and they can accomplish that with Microsoft and Sony...Nintendo is not the company back in the NES/SNES days, they completely changed!!!

I dare you to find a capcom game that sold like RE4 on wii on the PS3. Capcom sold better on the wii, and for heaven sakes give the titles a rest. all this hardcore casual talk is just media PR. I know a girl that by those standards are casual, but since she played so much duck hunt on wii play, she kicks butt in the conduit, red steel, and COD games. She doesn't own a "Hardcore" game, but she dang sure can kick butt in them.

What I'm saying is Capcom should worry less about making a game hardcore, and more about making it GOOD.

PS I love CAPCOM and don't mind the RE0 port, its my fave RE

You know you are right hardcore no longer stands for a good game nor skilled based or challenging game play. Back when the n64 had goldeneye my lil sister would join in on a 100 match marathon and really give us a run for our money. My girl friend can not be beaten most complicated strategy games yet they both hate war games lol. On top of that what hardcore gamer here has beaten the resort ping pong game? Nintendo makes the most challenging games that are still popular.

Ps3s and xboxs are every where to play yet you only see people playing the wii. The graphic may wow you guys but come on most of the guys posting grew up with power rangers lol. Just like that show"story",and detailed costumes jumping around was enough to make you guys cream your self. You could almost replace the red and blue ranger in some of these arguments lol.

The only thing hardcore about these guys is their collection maybe.

Yes both Nintnedo and Capcom are to blame. Capcom for making the assumption Nintendo Wii gamers want 2nd tier games and Nintendo for not saying hey Capcom make us a better game.

Though if Monster Hunter Tri doesn't sell well in Japan then Capcom has full right not to want to work with the Wii anymore :(

edit: well according to wiki... MH3 has pretty much a million sales so there you have it Capcom. Make games people WANT to play and you get sales!
