Xbox 360: The Year in Review

IGN: Another year has passed and it's time for reflection. This past set of 12 months has been an interesting dozen indeed. A global recession was the backdrop to everything and videogames were no exception. As always, the industry charged on and provided us with some wonderful pieces of entertainment. Here you'll find IGN's look back at the year that was. We'll outline the top rated games, the biggest events, and even train our expert eyes on 2010 to give you a glimpse of what's just over the horizon.

The Xbox 360 is in a state of transition. Early on in its life, Microsoft felt compelled to prove its worth to the core gamer. The company succeeded and millions and millions of gamers came together on Xbox Live to shoot each other in the virtual face more times than its healthy to think about. Gears of War, Halo and Call of Duty led the charge while those of us that like to game by ourselves a bit also snatched up the best role-playing games of this generation.

That was then.

'09 lacked xbox 360 exclusives, but as a multiplatorm owner '09 was an awesome year. KZ2, Infamous, AC2, L4D2, UC2, Demon Souls, Batman AA, MW2..ahh :)

sure, if you want to ignore the superior multiplats. But any sane gamer has all 3 consoles, ps3 for exclusives, 360 for multiplats and better online, and wii for fun stuff like mario and dead space spin off.

if you zoom in by 500x yeah, ghostbusters looked slightly better on 360

batman: arkham asylum ps3 had the joker challenge rooms

assassins creed 2 had psp support

and modern warfare 2 on the 360 was riddled with glitches that plagued the xbox live friends list

yep superior multiplatform games in 2009 confirmed

If this is the case then you really don't need one.

Multiplats that have 4 or 5 pixels a different colour that no one can actually tell the difference when the game is running.

And online which you have to pay for, which is marginally better, but only better by about 3%

I love it how IGN is again Reintroducing Top 25 Xbox 360 list when they still haven"t done a Top 25 PS3 list.
