The Decade of Zelda

Zelda has been around since the mid 80's, yet no previous decade has come close to giving us what this decade has. There have been 9 Zelda game releases in the last 10 years. To put that in perspective, there are only 5 Zelda titles that were not released in this decade. So for all our complaining, for all our slow "no news" times, and for all this whining about why we don't have Zelda Wii yet, it's good to remember that Nintendo has been giving us Zelda love all decade, so be patient young grasshopper and you will greatly rewarded. Still, lets' take a walk down memory lane as we go through all the Zelda releases this decade.

I really enjoyed zelda oracle of seasons =)

I enjoyed both ages and seasons, but ages frustrated me at one point in the game to no end because I couldn't find the place to change time periods.

After finally finding a copy of the Minish Cap recently and finishing it, I hope Capcom will come back a make another Zelda title again. I really enjoyed their work they have done with the series.

Zelda games are a crown gem to Nintendo.

Great series.

Alas I never got to play them as I was quite young at the time and didn't appreciate the sheer joy that can be derived from playing Zelda titles, I hope someday that Nintendo re-releases them in some form but I guess for now I will just have to live in the shame of knowing I have not played those particular two Zelda games!
Coincidentally, at the time of coming across this article I was and still am listening the Z.R.E.O album, its really great, brings back great memories!

Darksiders takes the Zelda formula to Adults.

Playing Darksiders makes me want slightly (who am i kidding its nintendo) more hardcore Zelda

Ninty take some notes...Let some of your characters grown up just as the fans of the series has.

tunaks15233d ago

ya because adding blood and making it look like a F-up WoW game makes it an "adult" game. The atmosphere in Majora's Mask is more "adult" then Darksiders can ever hope to be.

Zelda Replay: Majora's Mask

VGChartz's Evan Norris: "Is Ocarina of Time as legendary as I remembered it? For the most part, yes. In spite of a handful of missteps — a few obtuse puzzles, some tedious backtracking, and a clunky stealth sequence — I don't believe the last 23 years have been unkind to it. Ocarina remains a brilliant example of the medium, a landmark game that shaped the future of its own franchise and 3D gaming in general. After more than two decades it retains its inventive dungeon design, challenging puzzles, dynamic combat, wistful storyline, unforgettable music, and empowering open-air freedom. I feel confident calling it one of the greatest games of the fifth generation, even if I'm no longer prepared to list it among the five best games ever made."

Pure unadulterated fun. They don't make them like this anymore...especially not the triple A industry.

Back when video rental was a thing, I rented out Majoria's Mask, I never finished it though. I did buy the 3DS version before the eshop shutdown, so maybe one day I'll finally play through the whole thing, it's amazing how well these games hold up though. I briefly played Ocarina of Time for a while and it was really fun.

Honestly I really changed my mind on Fi with the remaster because they didn't make her interrupt your gameplay every 5 seconds, that drastically changed my views on her

Inverno83d ago

Technically she's in ToTK but obviously can't take any other form than the sword she was made into. Also the companion feature has been done plenty of times in Zelda, I don't think it'll add anything new. If anything should be brought back it should be the Minish.
