I've seen alot of negativity towards this game on n4g, but I think you guys just dont get it, this game is so much fun, personaly I've played this game more than any other game this year already, yes there are some problems that require patches, I've ran into every one of the problems posted here on n4g personaly at least once, and besides the javelin glitch they were very very minor annoyances, even the javelin glitch wasnt widespread at the time I had played the game everyday since launch for at least 4-5 hrs and only had 2 matches where someone was using it, my point is this game has the best multiplayer I've played this year, imo the multiplayer is the best of any shooter, including Halo3 (edit maybe tied with the first Gears) and millions of people like me will tell you a few very minor problems has had almost no effect on the overall experience of MW2, talking to hundreds of random gamers online and outside of n4g, the game is almost unanimously praised, its only here that everyone makes MW2 out to be a poor game because of these few issues.

I still remember the first time I got into a free for all match with 18 players, I was likely "damm man whats this sh%$" and another player yelled at me "Stfu and enjoy it"(typical live language) but you kno what I did actually have a blast, yeah the some maps were just a frag fest, but fighting for your life every other second was balls to the wall fun, we were all laughing and talkin shi4 to the winner cause the kill cam showed all he was getting spawn kills, it was so much fun, I think you guys need to stop all the game detective work and just start enjoying gaming again.

For me anyways. I was on this morning, downloaded the update, and still I had matchmaking issues.
It kept throwing me in private matches on RUST.

Although Its nice that they fixed the 1887s, it was still fun while it lasted.
I liked the challenge of playing against a whole squad of people using them. Made me value Stealth tactics more. And ofcourse when all else failed, you could either pick up a pair from a dead body, or use your own.

Also, anyone here getting really annoyed by the so-called "Blood Splatter" when your character is dying ?

It doesn't even look like blood ffs.

IW should remove that sh1t cause it doesn't help you survive, it only makes your death faster.

The reason why the blood splatter is so stupid is because YOU DONT BLEED THROUGH YOUR EFFIN EYES WHEN YOU GET SHOT!

It is VERY annoying. I much prefer games like CoD4's red screen or better yet, Killzone 2's system where color depleted to black and white as you lost your health.

I dont understand comments like yours, yes of course realisticly you dont bleed through your eyes when shot, but the point is its done that way in game because thats the penalty for getting shot, I've never been shot in real life but I imagine its very painful and disorienting, you dont see clearly, your adrenaline kicks in and you just might be seeing "blood" figuratively speaking. What makes your comment even more riduculous is you point out the blood splatter because thats not how it is in real life but then you give 2 other examples that are just as far from reality. I happen to disagree with those examples too, not because they are any less realistic but because they feel less immersive than MW2's current "near death" system.

I agree.. The strawberry sauce splatter didn't appeal to me since the trailers and had they actually bothered to use gamers perspective all these glitches, and hackable holes in the game would not have occured. EVen though i'm p$$d at Dice for not given 360 players beta but they still gave to PS3 community. Atleast they got some feedback which will help make the game better.

Anyway with the new patch i would prob start playing it again as the shotgun spamming nubs really irritated me when they could hit me from a sniping distance.

Why did IW even add in Akimbo Machine guns and Shotguns? Kind of unrealistic for a series that the fans always bragged about how realistic it was.

i have no idea why they did this, in my opinion the single worst decision they made in the game, don't get me wrong its still fun its just not as fun as it could have been. Remove akimbo for anything other than handguns and maybe machine pistols, remove heartbeat sensors from multiplayer and remove the nuke and IW will have made a much better game.

They tried to please everybody and in the process jacked up the flow of the game. Dual wielding to pull in the Halo players. 3rd person to pull in the Gears fans. Neither belong in COD. To top it off they added a "thermal" scope that works better on Wasteland than it does on Derail(a snow map). It's basically a "turn people that aren't using cold blooded bright white" scope. Weak. Dual shotguns had fail written all over it from the get-go.

MW2 MP is a great game (Level 55 Prestige 3), if you dont like it play something else. I didn't spend weeks on end crying about Need for Speed shift or OP FLash 2 about how crap they were week after week after week. I stopped playing them and played something else. Shocking!

if they have been balanced and i still use them and own people with them, does that mean I am actually good with them - ie it's not just pot luck sniping cross map at a tree and on the off chance hitting a sniper in the face as they have now been officially toned down.

Come on man, don't give me that. I NEVER used the model 1887's because I just try to rank up and you unlock them late. Last night was the first time I used them. Some guy was only using them for 3-4 matches straight, so I picked them up and got a 5 killstreak in 15 seconds and was only killed from a shot in the back. Anyone I saw in my screen, from medium to close range, died immediately after I pulled the trigger. There isn't "skill" with those weapons. You just see them and shoot. They were BS.

I agree they are BS... but just like any other weapon you get people who are good with them and people who are not good with them.

if everyone was equally good with them then everyone would end up with the same sort of scoreline using them, but thats not the case.

the real skill is not in the guns, it's in the player and thats what i am trying to say. now that they have been toned down, everyone is happy because they think your not going to be able to own with them... so i expect if i own someone with them they should not complain anymore.

I have gone into games where you have one or two people on the other team using them and then just me on my team using them ( because the rest of the guys i play with have not unlocked them yet ) and I own them... then cos they get f-ed off with me, next game like the whole team is running round with them... and they still get owned. they have the weapons but that does not mean they are good with them.

i agree I have killed people further away then i would have thought possible on the off shot, but 85% of the time i use them for close quarters when i know other people are running round with them. i would have thought is what they were meant to be used for so it does not bug me much, i just use them back then it's an equal playing field and if everyone else uses them that way this "toned down" update won't make much difference...

hence my comment about still owning with them and not having people complain because they have now been updated.

I am just waiting to see what all the people who have been crying about them say now.

I have a feeling there is still going to be a lot of crying going on.

I agree with you that the more you use the weapon the better you will be over someone who is new with it. I just think overall, the weapon doesn't take much skill to get kills with for someone who is just getting familiar with it.

ok, so i am home now have just updated and played a few games...

to be honest, ya i can see they have been toned down a bit.. but guess what... i am still owning with them, lol.

now, going back to my first comment, anyone who uses the shotguns the way they were meant to be used, close/ semi-medium range wont have a problem. they still do the job exactly the same.

thats how i use to use them and i am still getting the same killz with them. i think you better go back to IW and cry some more. they didn't tone them down enough, lol

Last night we tried to enter more than 20 times and took more than an hour to find a game that wasn't glitched after 9pm. And the 1887 you would find at least 4 or 6 players using them.

Took them long enough. The akimbo shotguns have been a problem since day one. It will be interesting to see how many people stop playing the game now that they can no longer run around like a d-bag.

I feel like Infinity Ward should patch out the "Halo" feel of the multiplayer. The care packets, kill streaks, and longer prestige levels, were reasons to keep me from buying this at $60. (I still prefer/play World at war and COD4) I'm not hating, the game is fun, as I rented it, for the "No Russian" hype. (That level made no sense and IW just included it to make a few extra bucks.) One last thing, IW should also consider patching in some DLC missions because unlike Uncharted 2 (Not saying U2 is better than MW2 or visa versa!), it appears that IW was only focused on the multiplayer quality.

SPOILER ALERT:

That level has an American CIA Agent in deep, aka undercover as a terrorist in that particular cell. They committed a mass murder and act of terrorism in a Russian airport, shot and killed the AMERICAN CIA and left his body there. That way, it was set up as if this was done by Americans. That in resulted brought Russia to war with the United States. That by far was the most important level in the entire game for plot development. Did you even pay attention to the story line at all?
