Divinity II Demo Isn't Quite Devine

DualShockers writes:

"I've had my eye on Divinity II: Ego Draconis since I finished Dragon Age: Origins (and I use the term "finished" loosely, as there is still much to do in subsequent play-throughs). I won't say much about its premise, because that's unimportant here. Although, I will say that your main character is in training, per se, to become a great dragon slayer, which is a highly honorable, yet horribly dangerous, vocation..."

I wasn't to attracted to this game, personally. Although it has some appealing features, there really isn't anything that draws me into it. Maybe the demo will change my mind, but after reading these impressions, I highly doubt it will.

I think the people looking forward to this the most are those that played the first one which was a great game.

I had a buddy play this game a month or two ago (illegally) and he told me that he really liked the game. I am going to get this game after hearing his report on it.

But then again, this is coming from a guy that did not like DA:O because of the HORRIBLE graphics and the fact he doesn't like to read a whole lot when he plays a game.. he played the PC version by the way.

I think that this game is being released at an inopportune time, which is unfortunate.

I had some moderately high hopes for this one.

Hopefully the full build will be better but typically the demo should work to hype you up about the game not the turn you away. A bad sign for this title.

that's the thing it wont be better ...
It's already out in Eu since oct/now on pc and it blows , except for fans of the serie i guess .

It could be good actually , despite the obvious mediocre graphics , what definitively kills it are the bugs and technical issues without any apparence of the dev team actively patching the game .

Will this be forced to live in the shadow of Dragon Age? Shame cuz it looks like it will.

it looked and smells like bad port and it IS ONE.. maybe the whole story thing might be good and may the customization and all.. but if those are not good at all.. .then there is nothing left going for this game.. 360gamers except u are an RPG addict in need for a quickfix.. then ok.. but if not .. MASSEFFECT2 is what u want to be waiting for .. this is not even worth it.. from what i c.. and trust me.. i played it all.. from dragonage,buldursgate,SC2,name it i have played it well so far the 360 is concerned.. anyway..all rpgs on it i have played. this is the worst i have seen in a while.

Divinity Anthology Review at CalmDownTom

CalmDownTom says, "I hold in my hands the product of over 10 years of hard work. A series of games that could very easily have slipped away and gone unpublished. Lucky for me then that the folks at Larian Studios are a tenacious bunch!"
