GamePro writes: "It didn't take long for 4A executive producer Dean Sharpe to decide to turn the Russian post-apocalyptic novel Metro 2033 into a video game. "I started reading the book at 9PM, and by midnight I had already sent an email to [Metro 2033 author Dmitry Glukhovsky] saying 'Let's make a game!'" Sharpe told me recently. The book itself has taken on a cult-like status in its native country, and is currently being translated to English to coincide with the game's release. The story follows Artyom, a young man who was born just before a cataclysmic event in 2013 that left the surface of Earth a frozen, irradiated wasteland. Artyom lives with other survivors of the event who've taken refuge from the harsh world above them in Moscow's underground metro system."
