Sega before milking Sonic for everything he's worth and releasing yet another new game based on him every six months over various platforms was known for making a multitude of games that were unique, innovative, interesting and above all, fun to play. So here is a list devoted to those franchises the fans would like to see Sega making again.

Maybe it's the 8/16 bit loving kid in me, but I love Sega, and have a hard time not rootin' for them. Not quite sure how this article missed Phantasy Star though.

Glad that Sega is still around as a successful Pub/Dev. I wish they would launch a new console. I'd buy one knowing that they have a stable of exclusive franchises to pull from previous gens and recent new IPs.

SEGA used to make some seriously kick ass RPGs. The Shining series is one glaring example. Classic, yet simple gameplay and each one of the games was awesome. Shining the Holy Ark on Saturn remains one of my all time favourites. I also love Skies of Arcadia and Panzer Dragoon Saga, as I'm one of the few to actually own a copy.

Good choices! Honorable mentions or those that should've been included would be Shinobi, Columns, Ecco, Vakyria chronicles, Outrun, house of the dead, virtua tennis, total war, Nights. What can i say? I'm a Sega fanboy.

i own every game in that list and then i wish sega would give us arcade perfect ports of there model 1,2 and 3 games on xbla/psn. i still love the look of the flat shaded polygons of virtua racing, virtua fighter 2 is still a masterpiece, last bronx and fighting vipers were awsome fighting games too. dont forget daytona usa and sega rally games...i could go on but i get the feeling that those of you that know...know!
