Croteam: PC gaming is better thanks to Steam

Destructoid writes:

"While speaking with Croteam boss Roman Ribaric, I had to ask if he, as a PC developer, held any stock in the oft-screamed "PC gaming is dead" declaration. Some believe that it's all over for PC gamers, while fans of mice n' keyboards deny it all. Ribaric believes that PC gaming is still very much alive, mostly thanks to Valve and Steam."

Only thing i hate about about steam is the chat keeps dying when ever it feels like it, it just drops connecting without warning.

It's often due to maintainence or server overload. There's like 10 people that manage Steam which currently has 2.2 million people connected to it, so I don't imagine it's an easy task.

Steam is great but damn it's been a while I played a PC game on it.

Twizzlada_Shogun3224d ago

Gotta love the constant barrage of major discounts on games.

I'm starting not to. Freaking Valve and their ability to make us impulse buy the games. Their deals are just so good...

Not to mention they actually let you play games for free for a various amount of days. That's just awesome.

I am pretty new to PC gaming but I really like Steam. Games deals like crazy. $5 & $10 dollars all the time and a lot of the games are really good. The best part is I can play them all in 1920 x 1080 on my TV. They just look so good.

I love having all my games ready to download/install wherever I am without the hassle of keeping the hard copies.

Pandamobile3224d ago

I always use Steam's backup feature and burn my recently downloaded games to DVD's so I don't have to waste bandwidth in the futre to redownload them.

GTA IV takes up 4 standard DVD's lol.

PC Gaming? Dying?
If that was so, would the there be any need for a console vs. PC "battle"?

Limited_Vertigo3224d ago

I don't really get the "PC gaming is dying" attitude. The PC games I play are still going strong BF2/TFC/TF2/CS/CSS/L4D/L4D2 and that's just a few. Plus the online experience on PC is not only extremely better but FREE.

evrfighter3224d ago

console gamers would like to believe that consoles are good enough to overthrow pc's.

Without actually researching it. They will buy into it after hearing it once and spread the fud through sites like this.

I can play download TF2 for free and play for 2 days, but I'm lazy. No mouse either, I only have a laptop.

Limited_Vertigo3224d ago

You can get a usb mouse for under 10 dollars, I suggest you do that.

Letros3224d ago

I'm too lazy to go to the store to buy a game, and I'm too lazy to open my disk drive to play a game.

Thankfully, I have Steam. Where would I be without you?
