4 Games You'll Miss But Should Play In 2009

With heavy hitters like Modern Warfare 2 and Assassin's Creed II out, gamers will undoubtedly miss out on some titles in 2009, not because they were bad titles, on the contrary they were great, but there's so much cash one has to spend on video games, and gamers already know beforehand the titles they'll purchase, and that's even before they see any reviews.

These 4 games were given good reviews, but you haven't played them, maybe you should do yourself a further and at least rent one:

I've played Killzone 2 and inFAMOUS and I plan to buy Borderlands. I still don't know about Dragon Age. Is it kinda like a medieval version of Mass Effect or totally different?

i'd hardly say people are "missing" these games are all 4 have sold very well, some even in the 7 figures already.

better title might be: "for the love of god, people, stop the insanity and buy these great games instead of crap like Wii Fit Plus"

i bought all 4, Borderlands on XBox and rest on PS3. all very much worth the money.

Dragon Age was the most surprising game of the year imo... graphically, its a bit sh1t sadly, but gameplay and especially story/characters make up for that in spades. i don't recall the last game that made me laugh, made me mad, made me care about atypical characters, and most of all really made me think about the choices i was making and the long term consequences they'd have. i was sad to see it all end.

Killzone 2 has done great. 2 Million players is not that short of a number. You don't need to sell like Halo or MW. Remember that Killzone 2 did NOT get proper ad support by Sony. They should have marketed the hell out of KILLZONE 2. That and add the fact that Killzone 1 was not received well, KZ2 didn't have a strong backing. Ever after that it managed to sell 2 million units! That's just great :)

Killzone 2 is an awesome game. One that if you like FPS, you should absolutely buy it.

I bought a PS3 JUST for Killzone 2.

Then a little demo for inFamous came along, and I ended up getting that game at release.

I'm getting Dragon Age: Origins for Christmas, so that will be three of the four.

I really have no plans to get Borderlands. Maybe I'll GameFly it sometime next year after I've finished my Christmas games, and the heavy hitters in the early part of the year.

There were Killzone 2 ads everywhere. Even on TV and Cinemas in Norway... and the game has gone Platinum.

I'm sorry, but I didn't like Borderlands at all. I mean, it was okay, but it's something I'll quickly forget about. Then again, I don't really like RPGs, so that definitely had something to do with it.

And for anyone wondering, I beat the entire game playing online co-op every step of the way. I even got a little started on my second playthrough.

Now I'm not saying it was a bad game, just not my type of game.

Platinum'd inFAMOUS, own Killzone 2 (and still play it). Probably won't ever play Dragon Age (it's that RPG thing again).

May not be a popular thought but Dragon Age has DLC out of the box. I hate that. Release the game you made and add to it down the road, don't gimp the retail version just to have DLC available day one. Again just my opinion but I am ashamed of buying that game and making it seem ok to the publishers/developers.

Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena is a great game too, that turned up about the same time as Killzone 2, in particular the remake of Escape from Butcher Bay, makes me wonder how the hell I missed that out last time!

I loved Killzone 2 and inFamous both of them are clear examples of why I own a PS3. No one should pass up on these two games. with 27 or 8 million PS3 owner's at least 21 million of them should have bought both of these titles. Sony should have pulled a "Spider-Man" advertising stunt for inFamous.

I got dragon age and plan on getting borderlands for PC.

Killzone 2 I have it and imo it's one of the best class based shooters out there only behind team fortress 2. The numbers sold did not do it justice for me personally. This game should have at least outsold ODST in my mind regardless of how much of a cash cow halo is for the xbox brand.

Infamous, great game (for the xbox 360 only gamers) think crackdown with a much better story and trade in weapons for super powers.

Killzone 2 mulitplayer spoiled other online games for me. Its partly because I am not good at shooting games, but KZ2 has such a strong emphasis on tactics and teamplay that I just cant get the point of games like Modern Warfare 2 any more, where all that matters is how quickly you can pull your trigger. After the weight of KZ2's gunplay, shooting on MW2 feels like you are using a water hose, press L1 and R1 and spray people.

Have got and played Killzone and Infamous and am playing through Borderlands which I wasn't bothered about but got it and it's great. Not too interested in Dragon Age, its not my type of game.

I GUESS I'M A SONY FAN, BUT MUCH RATHER BE KNOWN AS A GAME FAN.
Anyway, I have seen a ton of great PS3 games get no love from the Sony consumers...and I don't get it at all! I have read, heard, and seen so many "fanboy" arguments this year, but with all the great (and without being biased, the best of 2009) exclusive for one console, NO ON IS ACTUALLY BUYING THE PS3 GAMES!!

I see on here, youtube, and arguments with people at places like Gamestop & Best Buy, plenty of PS3 fans TALK LOUD, BUT DON'T SAY NOTHING IN SALES. It's embarrassing to see all the pirating on the 360, and gimmick games on the Wii...but the PS3 is barley moving the sales needle. Only 2.18 mil for Killzone 2??? (Are you freaking kidding me?)Uncharted 2 hasn't hit 3 mil yet? (INSANE!!) inFAMOUS didn't do that great, and Demon Souls may as well have not com out! PEOPLE NEED TO SHUT UP ABOUT THE 360 AND BUY PS3 GAMES...BEFORE WE DON'T HAVE ANY EXCLUSIVES ANYMORE! As long as people buy the games, the 360 is better. (I hate to say it...I hate 360!)

I'm probably setting myself up for a little flaming, but I got InFamous from GameFly, and I returned it unfinished. I was dissapointed to say the least, and I was really looking forward to it.

However, I really enjoyed Killzone 2, I am in the process of enjoying Borderlands, and I will most certainly enjoy Dragon Age when I don't have so many games to catch up on...

I own all those games except for Dragon Age. Killzone 2 is the GT of FPS whereas MW 2 is the Burnout of FPS. Infamous is probably the funnest game released this year. Borderlands is a fantastic and fun RPG. If you like searching for loot you will love Boderlands. I plan on getting Dragon Age soon. I think Demon Souls is the better RPG because of its action rpg battles but Dragon Age looks like a quality traditional RPG.
