Heavy Rain Equals Final Fantasy 7 In Terms Of Emotion And Intensity

The only game so far besides indigo prophecy that reaches this deep into emotion will be Final Fantasy 7 and when compared to Heavy Rain, Sony has a major blockbuster on it's hands that everyone should be on the edge of their seats about.

gameplay starts at 7min mark, its a good long chunk of it to, didn't see the whole thing but i think its bout 6-8 min of gameplay. The graphics look insane for this game, can;t wait for it to release next year

kalebgray925399d ago (Edited 5399d ago )

i wanted to shake the controller and im not playing oh my god... preorder during my lunch break at work tomorrow... confirmed

edit:off screen graphics win... looks better than most games offscreen... and ffvii was emotional ... especially when you take into the effect you read everything and there was no in game voice acting

MURKERR5399d ago (Edited 5399d ago )

that was the most amazing scene ive ever seen in a video game but your wrong for emotion this SURPASSES any game period, omg i had goose pimples,if the whole game is like that this could be the best game ever made simple.

usually i hate your flamebait titles but im giving you props on that video ....WOW WOW WOW well done

Shang-Long5399d ago (Edited 5399d ago )

1st HHG i watched.

Darkstorn5399d ago

I'll hold my judgment until I've actually played the game, but by the looks of it Heavy Rain is shaping up to be phenomenal.

sikbeta5398d ago

This game is going to be HUGE....

callahan095398d ago

Thanks for the footage, HipHopGamer, that was really incredible. Those graphics are nuts!

rockleex5398d ago (Edited 5398d ago )

I hope not. FF7 really wasn't emotional or intense compared to MGS back in the days.

I hope Heavy Rain SURPASSES every other game ever made in terms of emotion and intensity.

Edit: Why doesn't the video work for me?

cyberwaffles5398d ago

yeah, vid ain't working for me either.

qface645399d ago

wait what that is a bad thing to say it makes heavy rain sound bad
FF7 wasn't really emotional at all

intensity well i dunno about that

egm_hiphopgamer5399d ago

Listen when you play this game you will be another person for the moment that's how much it sucks you in Heavy Rain is the real future of gaming you have to have this game

Nitrowolf25399d ago

idk if it was emotional but thats because i just played the game wen it came out on psn. Only part i saw that really could have been emotional was that sephorioth and aris (sorry if i spelt them wrong) in that one cave area, Heavy rain looks like it will have allot of emotion to it

ia_studio5399d ago (Edited 5399d ago )

your video has some compression issues, you should use squared pixels dude and no fields.

The game looks amazing it's my most anticipated tittle of all time, last one was littlebigplanet.

Noctis Aftermath5399d ago

If you played FF7 during the PS1 era it was emotional, but if your someone who played it later then it would not have felt the same.
The game made you care deeply for the characters and when some of the bad stuff goes down it almost made me cry.

qface645399d ago

i did play it on the ps1 back when it came out
i wasn't moved at all it wasn't emotional at all

just the blocky characters no voice acting text only i dunno i personally just wouldn't find that emotional

nefertis5398d ago

@HHG how the hell did u get heavy rain is a demo coming?

The_Rock5399d ago

This is a load of crap because we all know hiphopgamer lacks the intelligence to play a RPG. The guy is incapable of reading.

callahan095398d ago

Really, N4G, this guy's comment racks up 15 agrees? That hateful bull crap comment gets 15 agrees? That's pathetic. And there's no need for such insulting, personal attack comments here, especially outside the Open Zone.

Myst5399d ago

Damn...That means more than likely this game will be like Demon's Souls and consume me for weeks...perhaps even months.

TheBand1t5399d ago

So I won't feel any emotion at all?

FF7 didn't make me feel anything. :/ It's just tedious.

Anorexorcist5399d ago (Edited 5399d ago )

It's because Aeris, Tifa, nor Yuffie ever had their own shower scene in FFVII.

Please stop comparing video games to movies

"Many video games catch not only great commercial attention but remarkable critical attention as well. We have seen games like Heavy Rain, The Last of Us Part II, and even entries in the Metal Gear series described as fantastic interactive experiences, even heralded in the same way as Hollywood's greatest films.

I would suggest that not only is this an unfair comparison but also a harmful one. Video games, by their very nature, are an intricately different medium and should be weighed against one another rather than another form of media," Phillip writes for GF365.

Yes, please stop. They're better than most hollywood drivel nowadays.

BLAKHOODe1411d ago

I think Hollywood films will becoming increasingly more like video games in the future, especially as the world embraces the "new normal" from the pandemic. It makes sense, as games like Spider-Man: Miles Morales showcase just how realistically we're reaching in graphical capabilities, as well as showcase extreme action sequences in spectacular ways. And as time goes by, it'll get easier and cheaper to produce such "art", as well as create new star "actors" that never age, never die, never complain, never gets involved in scandals, etc. Technology is amazing and we're only just getting a taste of what it'll eventually be.

sourOG1411d ago

No. Some games are like movies.

medman1411d ago (Edited 1411d ago )

No. For the money spent, a quality game provides far more entertainment value than a quality movie. Especially when looking at what is going on in the world, and how a studio can attempt to pilfer from consumers by charging 30 dollars for Mulan via streaming. Ridiculous. There is no comparison....games all day.

Have you played Detroit? While it’s my personal favorite, I fully understand many preferring Heavy Rain more. I’m glad you enjoyed Heavy Rain too.

bouzebbal1568d ago

def. one of my top 3 best experiences on PS3

ClayRules20121568d ago

bouzebbal

That’s awesome to hear! What’re the other 2 best experiences?

akaFullMetal1568d ago

Great game, need to get started on Detroit soon.

ClayRules20121568d ago

Glad you enjoyed the game! Yes, Detroit is a masterpiece of a game, and their best work to date “in my opinion”

ClayRules20121568d ago

Wow, 10 years...and yet, still one of the best/most emotional/thrilling gaming experiences I’ve ever had.

So grateful to Sony for believing in Quantic Dream’s vision for this game, and giving them a chance. I’ll never forget David Cage saying “We want to challenge the player, but not with the controller, but mentally, with their decisions of “How far would you go to save someone you love” Well, they broke my emotional gamer heart lol.

My teenage son refuses to play this game, because I’ve told him in little detail the emotional impact it had on me all those years ago. Maybe one day he will.

Z5011568d ago

Still have my origami crane they teach you how to make when you're installing for the first time.

C-H-E-F1568d ago

it's been 10 years? wow, that was so fast, I feel like this console gen went fast as well although it hasn't. I really look forward to the PS5 this holiday season though.
