Dang, not the usual 9 out of 10 I see.

Yeah, I really wanted this to be a near 10/10, but I just couldn't. I have to say that the final build was vastly improved over the pre-release press copy, but it still couldn't measure up compared to previous episodes. Overall, it was just disappointing, and the puzzles were, for the most part, no fun, so I really couldn't justify giving it a higher score unfortunately.

However, the series is still great overall and I still recommend it. I do want to play through it all again, which is something you don't usually do with these type of games... so that does say something. And I am looking forward to the next Guybrush adventure in TellTale's hands, esp if they make some more improvements.

I'm curious, what is the difference between The Secret of Monkey Island and Tales of Monkey Island? Is it a completely different story or just a graphics upgrade?

Monkey Island is a series from back in the hey-day of LucasArts point-and-click adventure games.

I think Secret may have been the first of this series, which was recently released by LucasArts on PC and XBLA.

Tales of Monkey Island is a brand-new game in the franchise, made by TellTale but with permission from LucasArts.

Hope that clarifies ;).
