Spike VGAs are a Western love-in

"I'll make this easier: raise your hand if you won at Spike's VGAs and you weren't a Western developer.

Let's be clear: the Video Game Awards (which have all the crebility that an awards show can self-proclaim to have), are not US-only. There is no "international" category: Canadian-developed Assassin's Creed can win Best Action Adventure game, and everyone's favourite Australian, Hugh Jackman, can take the prize for Best Performance by a Human Male. Most importantly (of course), UK-based Rocksteady Studios claimed Studio of the Year.

So why does it appear that Japanese games are snubbed unless there is no other option?"

Not surprising since there hasn't been that many high-quality Japanese releases this year (that I remember).

Demon Souls was definitly a high-quality release, but I honesty agree that Dragon Age should have won the award. Heck for me its my GOTY.

Gotta completely agree. Western developers are really stepping up!

Especially on home consoles. Demons' Souls, Resi 5... I'm going blank.

But c'mon, Final Fantasy XIII for Most Anticipated, at least!
