A lot of this season's most talked-about games include ones with excessive violence, negative role models, extreme gore, sociopathic behavior, and other things that have been proven to have a negative effect on kids.
So how do you give kids what they want without giving them what you don't want? Know your options. Follow their tips on a choosing great video games, check out their 2009 video game gift guide, and offer alternatives that don't veer into unhealthy territory.
While there’s likely already a list behind closed doors, one can still speculate and offer logical suggestions for titles new and old that should find their way into the PlayStation and Switch libraries.
Some of these seem to be exclusive for lack of enthusiasm of the publisher rather than because of deals. A lot of cool indies skip ps for some reason like katana zero, el paso, elsewhere and gunbrela
They really think PlayStation fans would want to play Redfall? Pfft.
Personally nothing on that list would be any game I’d want to play.
I’d absolutely love Hellblade 2, Palworld, and Quantum Break on ps5 as I’m sure tons of others would too. There’s nothing wrong with wanting games from another console and its sad that people try to act like they aren’t interested in them.
Sunset Overdrive makes very good sense. Palworld might.
Don't know about the others. Hellblade II does make sense given the original launched on PS4 first. Quantum Break was a massive letdown for me. I absolutely hated the whole TV show thing and I don't think anyone should have to relive that on modern hardware.
The inFamous games are an important part of PlayStation history, but the series is in limbo and playing older entries isn't exactly easy.
Would like remasters of 1 and 2. I enjoyed them much more than Second Son.
1 & 2 had more of an emphasis on climbing and the traversal requires a bit more effort in a good way. It was rewarding. Second Son made climbing mostly obsolete so they put little effort into it. The traversal was just great in inFamous 1 & 2. There's a reason Sunset Overdrive copied and improved upon the induction grind mechanic.
Reminds me of how I felt about the decline of parkour and the well designed tombs (basically Prince Of Persia levels) that we saw in the Assassin's Creed games.
The story and atmosphere were also much better in 1 & 2.
Electricity is just a brilliant superpower for an open world city. It perfectly fits just like webslinging does in New York and it has many applications.
Wouldn't the onus be on the consumers? If they bought the Infamous games, then we'd have more games from that series.
I would love to see a new game but a feel that would get a response similar to Saints Row.
Loved all 3 of them. I couldn't get on with the vampire spin off though. Wish they didn't move away from cole but I didn't mind the other character.
Soulsborne games are infamously difficult. But why has that difficulty been the secret sauce to success for many of these titles in the genre?
Rewarded effort feels good.
Starting out bad at something and getting better with practice makes accomplishments meaningful.
Getting through these games feels like a journey of self improvement, lol.
You only have yourself to blame if things go poorly, but in a similar way overcoming challenge is similarly a function of your own growth.
I think because the games are fair. Gamers can tell that it’s due to their own abilities and not some BS.
I've always loved the sense of adventure and wonder in these games. There's no hand holding, there are surprises and traps everywhere and you have to figure out what some items do. Beating a heide knight was like an accomplishment for me the first time and it felt good to earn that sword he dropped. I've spent hundreds of hours in souls games ever since Kings Field on PS1. The lore is incredible and it makes you think about the history of the world you're in. I can't wait for Shadow of the Erdtree.
It's the recipe of fair difficulty, presentation, boss battles and lore that attract me to these games. The From Souls games have always had a nebulous quality to them that I find fascinating. Demystifying them is a big part of the fun.
I think its the atmosphere and gameplay. Each of these games unique ways to play and unique settings/atmospheres that are in a league of its own.
lol i couldnt stop smiling after i read:
Demon's Souls It's not just the copious amounts of blood and the smaller enemies who fall like rag dolls at your feet -- this game also has a depressing vibe. Because you constantly die, it can break the spirit of even the most seasoned gamer, but hardcore players relish this kind of challenge.
Alternative: Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
Demons Souls is definitely a game you dont want some one will a cool head to get into. Otherwise there will be pain :)
LOL :)
lmao! L4D2 teaches team work! now why is that there *sarcastic* lol
Braid instead of DA:O? It's not even the same genre. Was the writer huffing petrol?
HAHAHA infamous and UC2 are kid's games!!!!
