It feels like Blue Fang has put a lot of effort into developing World of Zoo, and their attention to detail really brings the animals to life – particularly some of their reactions to the hose. Although it may not be accurate to their real-life incarnations (then again, who knows what they get up to when you're not looking), keep an eye out for the sleepwalking koalas.

Developer Blue Fang has traditionally done a great job balancing the cute with the realistic, as in their Zoo Tycoon series. World of Zoo is no disappointment, and is especially well tuned to the Wii audience, that is accustomed to a higher 'Toon quotient than gamers on other platforms. These aren't animals designed to portray the majesty and gravity of the animal world, these are animals that will make your toddlers squeal with delight and have your older children scrambling for play time.
Nintendojo writes: "Some companies approach the virtual pet simulator with an intention to create a new experience, something that has not been done before, or something that enriches the very life of the player playing the game. Unfortunately, when it comes to World of Zoo, Blue Fang Games didn't. Instead the company went with the old standby of adding in as many thematically appropriate creatures as possible and hoping that quantity beats quality, which it doesn't."
