Heavy Rain looks sick. I also can't wait for GT5 eye candy.

DecoyOctopus5254d ago

God of War III looks really good

I don't think Alan Wake should be on this list because they said it wouldn't be on PC for a long time, if ever. Heavy Rain should definitely take its place. The Last Guardian should probably be in there too.

Guido5254d ago

Alan Wake
Arcania: A Gothic Tale
Bioshock 2
Brink
Call of Duty 7
Crysis 2
Final Fantasy XIII
God of War 3
Gran Turismo 5
Heavy Rain
Mafia 2
Max Payne 3
Rage
Red Dead Redemption
Splinter Cell Conviction

Looks like a fun year of gaming.

Couple the photorealism with the silky smooth 60 frames per second and the fact that it will run in 1080p native, you have a real winner here. Not to mention just how many highly rendered cars are on track at once with not one hitch in the frame rate. Hopefully PD eradicates some of the screen tearing found in Prologue.

December 17'th cannot come soon enough.

KiRBY30005254d ago

yet its not on their top 15...

Nikuma5254d ago

Why do people always say "am I the only one who......" all the time? Seriously NO you're not the only one and you never will be.

All of these games are going to look great. Some will be better than others, and some won't even be better than some current games. They will still look good regardless, and in the end it's the gameplay that really matters.

SuperStrokey11235254d ago

nikuma, sounds to me like someone has the case of the mondays

tuglu_pati5254d ago

ill go with GT5, this game has the budget, the talented studio and the time spent to be the best looking game of 2010 if not the best looking game this gen.

HolyOrangeCows5254d ago

Alan Wake?
I'll never understand why people think this game looks exceptional.

The pre-rendered screenshots from years ago looked great, but the gameplay footage has been far from impressive.

NeoBasch5254d ago

Heavy Rain has the best character models for sure, but I'd like to see some more work done to the environments. Once they hit that, I fully believe that Heavy Rain will be the best game graphically. Who knows, they could've already touched it up a bit since the last build they showed publically. I mean just look at this picture. INSANE! Makes my mouth water. :D

bloop5254d ago

I honestly can't see what's so impressive about GOW3's graphics (I'm a huge GOW fan before anyone starts bashing). Maybe I've just been looking at some really bad shots. Heavy Rain looks good, but I think GT5 will probably blow me away the most.

HolyOrangeCows5254d ago

"I honestly can't see what's so impressive about GOW3's graphics (I'm a huge GOW fan before anyone starts bashing)"

I agree. While they don't look "Bad", they don't look "Exceptional" either.
I was happy that the framerate (In the demo) stays between 30-40fps, though.

Traveler5254d ago

How can anybody that has seen the gamplay videos of Brink say that they don't think it is impressive? It is very impressive. It actually reminds me of Killzone 2 and might even be better looking. I want to see more, but it is without a doubt an extremely graphically advanced game.

I'm sure all of these will be really nice looking games.

Narutone665254d ago

it's Gran Turismo 5 all the way. It's leading now in the survey.

kaveti66165254d ago

I agree that Brink looks very good. I think it could come close to Killzone 2 in a few months but right now it's missing a lot of special effects that KZ2 has. Someone else on here posted some screens of KZ2 that looked so damn good that I cannot say that Brink is better visually.

"Bioshock 2

The first part of the underwater world came up with a surprising conclusion. In the second part, it will give even a multiplayer part."

Google Translate sucks. -_-

Christopher5254d ago

Eh, IMHO the list is pretty weak and too early to tell.

I'm still not seeing what others seem to be seeing in Alan Wake. Bioshock 2 looks very much like the first and the underwater scenes hopefully get a vast improvement from the vids from earlier this year. CoD7 is beyond premature. I would never call GoW3 a graphical masterpiece compared to what's already available. Mafia 2 and Max Payne 3 haven't seen trailers, only screenshots, which really don't mean much in the end. Red Dead Redemption, while looking good, doesn't seem to even have the graphical polish that GTA4 did, but primarily due to the western scene that really doesn't allow for much graphically. Splinter Cell: Conviction looks good, but not in comparison to more than a few of this year's releases.

Ravage275253d ago

But GT5 is looking VERY likely to end up as the best looking game of this gen when it ends.

Listing COD7 is really stupid, there's is nothing shown yet and none of its predecessors set any kind of standards when it comes to gfx at their respective time of release. And they are not investing in that much needed new engine anytime soon. Just be glad if they FINALLY decide to go 720p, the minimum HD standard.

A 3000 times more rational choice would be KZ3, yes i know we've seen jack about it but i could say the same for most of the games on the list.

Microsoft Xbox 3605253d ago

Gran Turismo 5 wins by default. That game looks photorealistic.

darkmurder5253d ago

Pfft Arcania will probably just have nice textures but then a horrid ass depth of field which will just render it useless and make it ugly anyway. Gameplay will suck as well.

"15 games to blow you away visually in 2010"

So use a screen shot from Crysis Warhead (2008) in the caption? Fair enough, still while those will all be very pretty games, many of which arent going to "blow" much away.

The ADS! Oh my goodness!

GamerSciz5254d ago

To be honest though we all have learned from the past and realized that graphics don't make a good game. Story line and gameplay are the key factors nowadays. But good graphics make a game fun to watch at least.

BX815254d ago

I agree, but don't forget the music. I forgot how music can make you feel like you're in the game until I listened to MW2. It was intense at points. It's great when a game can make you feel that immersed in an experience.

rawd5254d ago

Gran Mothereffing Turismo 5
End of list.

EKWB reportedly plagued with financial disarray many gaming pc's left without parts

EK Cooling allegedly has slipped itself into a hot soup of seemingly endless financial woes, where it has not paid its staff, suppliers, and contractors for many months as the company is facing liquidity problems and a surplus of inventory left unsold, stuck in the warehouse for a more extended period. Gamers Nexus investigated these claims made by former and current personnel, where he found trails of unpaid bills lasting as long as three to four months and unpaid raises that accumulated for almost a year.

EK Water Blocks has two entities—a Slovenian-based headquarters and a US-based subsidiary, EK Cooling Solutions. Steve narrated the series of events in detail, stating that the company was reportedly irresponsible and negligent regarding payment. Consequently, partners and employees are forced to share the burden of alleged mismanagement. It all begins with its extensive range of products, leading to a surplus of goods. EK has over 230 water blocks, 40 liquid cooling kits, 85 reservoirs, 40 pumps, 73 radiators, and 212 miscellaneous accessories.

Yes this is not about video games directly but indirectly this will impact the pc gaming/workstation space hard.

This company is massive one of two in the water cool space so if it goes poof then thousands out there have no spare parts or half built computers.

SO yeah i know not about a video game but think of it as amd leaving the pc space but this is ekwb that could be leaving water cooling in the pc space

As someone that has built a watercooling rig. EK is big, but there's so many numerous watercooling part companies out there. EK's stuff isn't exactly amazing quality for the price compared to others either, it's just ok. Much like Corsair. The impact would be negligible long term. For perspective the majority of my parts are XSPC, at most I use EK for my gpu waterblocks and fittings. Both easily replaceable.
