The VGA Premier of Halo Reach Will be Very Short

Bungie today answered a whole load of user asked questions. One of them has revealed the Spike VGA premier of Halo: Reach will be very, very short. It's basically going to be a slightly extended trailer like thing.

It's confirmed to be "A video from Halo: Reach's opening cinematic."

I dont want Opening Cinematics!!! I just want to see Gameplay. I hope they're making fun of us and @ the awards show they'll show something crazy with Gameplay And have everybody go Crazy.

Madusha3778d ago (Edited 3778d ago )

Agreed, I was hoping for like 10 minutes of gameplay. :'(

EDIT: I've been waiting a long time for this, 2 minutes isn't long enough. It's gonna be an opening cinematic.

Mista T3778d ago (Edited 3778d ago )

the trailer will most likely be all CGI, or just a short teaser

too early to do any big trailers

Edit: will be 2 and a half minutes long, wow what could they possibility show from the game?

Serjikal_Strike3778d ago

no actual gameplay will be shown or seen

SixZeroFour3778d ago

opening cinematic? i thought it wasnt going to be cgi?

gaffyh3778d ago (Edited 3778d ago )

2 and half minutes doesn't seem short at all, it seems like a normal length (if a little too long) for a trailer. I know MGS trailers are usually long, but that's Kojima, this is Bungie. The least I'm hoping for is some actual in-game video, and not the CGI stuff they showed last time or the live-action stuff for ODST (although that was a pretty damn good trailer).

edit - I noticed I got immediate disagree, probably cos of the Kojima comment, but I'm a Kojima fan and love the long trailers. I was just saying the style of trailer is different in the east and the west.

NecrumSlavery3778d ago

A live action movie or actual gameplay. No stupid cut scenes, unless they look Killzone 2 good.

Trebius3778d ago

Show incredible looking graphics and say that's in-game when it's really CGI :P

TheIneffableBob3778d ago

That's basically what they did with Halo 3.

4Sh0w3777d ago

Well the game won't be out for almost a year, right?

Saaking3777d ago

Damn it, it's not gonna be gameplay!?

Blaze9293777d ago (Edited 3777d ago )

Correct me if im wrong, but no Halo games so far have used CGI cinematics in-game so why would they start now?

Zack Sawyer3777d ago

@ gaffyh
I agree with you, a nice 2 min video of true gameplay would have been nice and not too long to spoil any of the story even if after reading the books we know most of whats going to happen.

Yeah I remember those adverts saying something like they were representative of graphics or gameplay, on both accounts they were wrong really which was a shame. Maybe on the PC or next consoles but not the 360.

I'm really not expecting much of a graphical leap even with Reach, but I would be happy if they could at least bring it up to the standard of games such as Gears or Battlefield:BC. But you never know I might be suprised, unfortunately it now seems we will have to wait a while longer before we can find out.

GOWIII33777d ago (Edited 3777d ago )

Microsoft might show a flash of gameplay IMO.

The BS Police3777d ago

Bungie doesn't do CGI cinematics.

GOWIII33777d ago

True. Bungie never uses CGI in games. I think people want to take jabs at the game using the Super Bowl CGI TV ad and Halo Wars as an excuse.

Shotgun_Roamer3777d ago

My wallet doesn't like teasing, don't taunt it

Jaces3777d ago

Can't complain, it's better than nothing.

Curious to see what they did to improve upon the franchise.

Xbox Avatars Shoe3777d ago

Just like Halo 3 and ODSTs' campaigns.

This sucks, I was hoping for at least 10 minutes. 2 minutes and 30 seconds of an opening cinematic is useless.

LinuxGuru3777d ago

2 and a half minutes is actually pretty good for a debut.

A lot can be shown in 2 and a half minutes, be thankful.

RockmanII73777d ago

It's better than nothing

Battlefield3778d ago

Spartan_008 asks: "How long is the Halo: Reach screening for the VGA's?"

Bungie Answers: "About two and a half minutes."

blue7xx73778d ago

two and half minutes isn't short lol I though when I read this it was gonna be like 15 seconds or less. But 2 1/2 minutes isn't short for me.

Madusha3778d ago

IMO it is, I was waiting a long time for this premiere...we want to see more gameplay. 2 minutes will go past so quickly. It's like your average game trailer.

Mista T3777d ago

watch 2 minutes be like opening an armored door that's 4 feet thick :P
