Nintendo Wii criticised for 'substandard software'

The chief executive of Lightning Fish Games, Simon Prytherch, said that the Nintendo Wii's market from a third-party software developer and publisher perspective was "oversaturated with product."

He said that Nintendo's consumers "have been damaged by a lot of substandard software," which lead to them "only trusting big Nintendo brands."

His sentiments echo those of John Riccitiello, chief executive of the world's 4th most bankable video game publisher, Electronic Arts, who also lamented the position of third-party games developers for the Wii in a quarterly earnings conference call last month.
