iPhone rival? HTC's new Windows Mobile phone

With the launch of Apple's iPhone approaching, Microsoft has made it clear that it plans to continue relying on its hardware partners in the mobile-phone market, rather than making a phone of its own. So it's going to be interesting to see the new devices those hardware companies produce to run on Microsoft's Windows Mobile software.

The latest, unveiled today, is the HTC Touch. As the name implies, it has a touch screen, so it's inevitable for people to compare and contrast it with the iPhone.

I can see it now iPhone vs Windows mobile commercial.

Windows mobile guy:
Hello mom... this is... hello? Hello?!
Looks at phone. BSOD. Crap. Restart phone.

"We are sorry that your phone has not function properly. Would you like to start again, or go to safe mode. Note that you cannot make calls in safe mode."

Mac guy uses iPhone to call his girlfriend, takes pictures, records videos and sends it to his girlfriend on the fly.

Mac guy walk past poor Mobile windows guy who is now stamping on his phone.

iPhone is so expensive (It costs more than a 360!) and HTC's Touch doesn't have the hype so I dont think either of the is gonna be really famous.
(But I was wrong about DS's popularity so...)

LOL, funny comment Nik...

The Iphone is going to be hot because it acts like a cool computer but as a phone. It as all the hype with it also. I was amazed when I seen it in January and the Apple commercials are perfect. Sony should hire their maarketing group for the PS3.

MS has lots of devices with Windows mobile running on it but the Iphone looks cooler that Vista and it's in the palm of your hand. The price of the Iphone won't be an issue (weird how it is for consoles), remember the Razr 9 (not worth it). Phones command hefty prices but Cingular, Sprint, Verizon, Alltell, and T Mobile eat a lot of the cost for customers to get them to purchase the two year subscription.

I want it but I think I'll wait till I can touch it in a store to see if I'm willing to go over to Cingular.

Don't think this will be a rival to the iPhone. I mean... just look at it.
