ONM: LEGO Rock Band Review

As a standalone game, Lego Rock Band is entertaining enough. It's fun for kids and should keep them entertained. When you look at the bigger picture and compare it to other versions of the game however, the complete lack of effort that's gone into making sure the Wii version offers similar value for money is nothing short of disgusting and lazy.

The Most Wanted LEGO Games by Fans

Brandon Thompson writes: "With Traveller's Tales and Warner Bros locking down the rights to create Lego-based video games at least until 2016 and a stable of instant hits released and upcoming titles like Harry Potter on the way, we wanted to look at the licenses we'd most like to see teleported into the popular Lego Universe.

The series already has some great properties tapped like the Batman and Indiana Jones franchises among other big licenses, but we still couldn't help ourselves. I clicked without reading the title and thought the game was real. I would kill for a real Lego X-Men game.

What Would Kratos Do5117d ago

X-men and Star Trek would be great.
I'd like Stargate and Buffy too.

I think Buffy would be cool, but the Star Trek one has me excited. These are great ideas, but they just make me sad since it's all about 10% chance of EVER happening.

VGC: Lego Rock Band PS3/360 Review

VGC writes: "When LEGO Rock Band was first announced no one seemed to know exactly what to expect. Would it be a short, super-easy kids music game the length of a track pack, or would it be a fully developed game that anyone can pick-up and play. When news started rolling in that it was a fully developed game people started to breathe a sigh of relief; this wasn't going to be a childish, short version of Rock Band. This game is certainly geared towards kids, but it's still a blast for adults as well."

Digital Battle: LEGO Rock Band Review

Overall, LEGO Rock Band is definitely geared as the family/casual/young gamers, and, above all, just seems like a way for the publisher to nab another age group with the Rock Band hype. However, it's still fun to play with friends if you haven't tried Rock Band, despite the LEGO version not having any competitive or online multiplayer, which, frankly, sucks.
