Electronic Theatre hosts a brand new gameplay trailer for Ubisoft's forthcoming James Cameron's Avatar: The Game, showcasing the multiplayer mode set to be included.
Is it just me or does that look like a decent movie game?
yea your not the only one, that multiplayer looked fun as hell, kinda like timesplitters, love that game.
looks good actually... here's the trailer in HD! http://www.youtube.com/watc...
Definitely looks interesting. I wonder what kind of modes there will be.
Of coarse Uncharted 2 takes the cake, but this game seems like it would make a better contender than a lot of the other games that have been nominated by different organizations and sites lately.
i think there's WAY too much hype around this game. not once has this been on my radar and yes, i'm one of those people that watched james cameron's long and drone presentation at e3...
of SW Battlefront a bit, due to the TPS and style and futuristic/factions aspects...Looks fairly descent, we'll see how it fairs if a demo comes out or if I can see what the reviews complain about if at all (I don't pay attention to the number in a review as much as what they reason for that number).
woah woah woah lets not get crazy....
game looks good. look at that lush environment.
This is a great game, nothing incredible but very solid and well done.
that's all running off the 360. here's more footage. http://www.gamersyde.com/st...
Running out of things to hold on too MGSR
lol who really cares if it's running on the PS3 or 360. It's just a trailer. But for some reason some of those shots remind me of Halo when you hold a turret.
"Running out of things to hold on too MGSR " nope, it just keeps on piling to the currently existing list.
times you can't stop bringing up the love of your life, 360? This was a neutral conversation and you had to mangle it with your delusions...Sheesh.
Wow, this game looks incredible! If the gameplay matches the visuals, this game could be huge. One thing is for sure: This game is gonna look awesome on my 50" Samsung B650 plasma. :D
Why does this game have to be titled "James Cameron's" (insert movie title name)? What exactly is his involvement with the production of the game....? Do people really want to buy this game because of his name? Are we that sad now? I didn't see James Cameron's Terminator anywhere lol.
Looks good. I would guess a metacritic 77-81.
Is not half bad for a movie-game ;P
The two highest rated movie games this generation are King Kong at 80 and The Bee Movie at 71, so yea. This game should be the best movie game this generation (So far).
it goes up some, like Star Wars: Force Unleashed and Riddick: Dark Athena, which respectively got like a 72 (or so) and a 82 (or so)...but I get your point. A movie property/IP and a directly correlated release to a specific one are a bit different.
Will this game work on regular non 3D HD TV's B? Or is a 3D TV a must ? Or will it work on regular standard TV's & 3D is not entirely needed ? Will this work on a normal TV ?
The movie is in 3D. The game is not. Lols. : )
The game IS in 3D, but will require a certain type of TV and console (HDMI). It will come bundled with the glasses needed. If you do not have the "certain" TV then you'll have to play it the "old fashioned" way, in regular 2D.
The game IS in 3D if your TV is 3D ready
Lols. Sorry, guys. Must have missed that entirely. : ( I is idiot. Bubbles for all three of you and apologies all around!
No shame Mr. Kennedy, it happens to us all. RPS: Rapid Post Syndrome. posting before or without the facts , typically seen in fanboys ,but a recent study suggests that at least once in a posters career they will experience RPS. No shame.
The game has many 3d options, but no bundled glasses. I am guessing the glasses for it come with the TV.
Definitely a mixture of Lost Planet, Halo, and Star Wars: Battlefront. I hope it's good. The movie looks great! James Cameron has yet to let me down.
I am very much surprised as to how well that game looks. Everyone knows most movie games suck. This looks really good!
The game looks beautiful and plays very smoothly. You can pick up a pair of 3D glasses if you dont have the tv for it.Mostly likely not since theres not to many of the tv 3d out there.I played the demo on the pc and it does truely deliever.Good moive game thats for sure.I think alot of people are going to be shocked about this game.Plus I must admit the movie looks stunning from what I have seen so far.Dont miss out on either one or you will be disspointed.
but maybe that's just the montage effect.
That could be the case here. : ) Of course, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen had some pretty solid multi-player too. Don't underestimate this one too much just yet. It has huge potential.
And why should we care about Dances With Smurfs: the game?
whatever, you obviously don't like the movie, why would you want the game?
I mean yeah, I see the somewhat physical correlation with the smurfs in how the aliens in Avatar are blue, but is that really all the similarities it has to the mythology behind The Smurfs? Or are people just acting retarded on purpose just to make fun of the film just for the sake of acting retarded?
its because of the southpark episode... they really have no connection to the smurfs other than the color blue
What South Park episode? Was there an episode that made fun of The Smurfs or Avatar or both?

did anybody here read the 10 page feature in an older Game Informer's magazine? to be honest, the video wasn't as great as I thought it would be. It looks to much like Lost Planet to me. Guess we have to wait for more videos to come out. Oh, and yes, this game has the whole 3d thing with it. And according to Cameron himself, says it blows everything else that supports that feature out of the water.
I'm not too thrilled with the single player for this, but the multi looks decent. Ubi Montreal makes some great games (AC2), but with all the other games I'm looking forward to, this doesn't stand out too much. And besides, if I felt like playing a game like this, I'd pick up Lost Planet 2 instead.
I'm sure Lost Planet 2 will be a much more solid game...but you kind of have to sacrifice storyline on that trade-off. Lost Planet doesn't exactly have a captivating storyline. Of course, if you're just looking to have some fun with a few friends...LP2 is your game!
I have zero interest in the game and the sure to be bloated CGI mess of a movie.
I have much interest in the game and the sure to be sick ass CGI movie.
the game look good.
As an Xbot who hasn't had any games this year you would say that wouldn't you?
I'm not the only who think this game look good check the gamer zone. You see lots of ps3fanboys saying the samething.
as in ...the avatar are aliens...o.O and the marines are as always, marines. looks good! =O best movie game eva?! =O!!!
reminds me of smurfs. i hate smurfs
remind me of Halo. Take it as a good or bad thing if you want. But it does look pretty damn good for a movie game. Looks like they took 1% of the budget for the massive movie and made a decent game.
Just might be the funnest movie based game....eh?
If the movie didn't piss me off so much, I might be interested in this game.
James cameron hasn't made a bad movie. what's with all the talk about how "this movie's gonna suck"?
