Fighting the Halo 3 hype

Do you know that feeling, when you look at something that millions of people think is a big deal, and wonder, "What's all the fuss about?" For me, it might be the "Dancing With the Stars" finale, a Picasso painting worth more than Seattle's waterfront or the 24-hour news coverage of Anna Nicole Smith's death. Call me a cynic, but I just don't understand all the hoopla.

"Halo 3" (Xbox 360, $59.99-$129.99, not yet rated), which will be released Sept. 25, is another one of those things.

Wasn't bad. Halo will merc all in sales just because it's so hyped. Sadly other games which may be better will not sell as well as this one. I'm buying it though I love Halo.

so what if this guy isn't excited it doesn't mean the excitement that millions are feeling isn't warrented. I wasn't excited when the PS3

"I've always suspected that the enthusiasm around "Halo" had a lot more to do with tens of thousands of fanboys — the kind who write about how awesome the new release will be in ALL CAPS — not wanting to admit that they probably should have bought a PlayStation 2 the last time around. They bought an Xbox, and they were sticking with it, even if the game was good but not extraordinary."

He almost lost all credibility but than I kept reading and it happened to be a good article. I'm not sure what it is about Halo than makes Halo "HALO" it just has a feel to it that makes it feel great.
