Capcom is eliminating the need to unlock characters in Super Street Fighter IV.
I like that, makes it fun right from the beginning.
Yeah it's good for those that just want to play with a particular character, but I also like unlocking people as it gave you an incentive to try out different characters. Oh well there's plenty in this version for anyone to try so it's a good move.
@1.1 It also made playing through that game to get everyone a motherf'ing chore. I don't mind playing through it once but over and over again is a bit much, the meat of the game is multiplayer.
I bet this won't be the final version of SFIV, so I'll pass.
Street Fighter fans could care less about unlocks ha, we just wanna fight. As long as we get hooked up with characters.
pretty standard move so that the new characters will be tournament legal. plus they probably wouldn't want a disparity between the arcade and console versions.
There were no unlocks in Street Fighter IV either, unless I'm mistaken. So this is pretty much what is expected from Super SF4.
you're mistaken ..9 characters need to be unlocked on the console version ... Having all of them unlocked for the start is a good move IMO ...
Yea, you had to beat Seth on certain occassions to unlock someone.
but it got boring. agreed with the one of the above the MP is the meat i dont care about easy SP crap it was to easy(well not the super hard one) but i was able to beat it no continues on 2 rounds. but still i had liek 600 online fights so i def. want to jump back in the only problem is im a blank, honda, ken, dhalsim so im not sure i care although i will use t.hawk just cuz i used to beast with him in the arcade back in the day.
That was the worst part of SFIV
This ruined fighting games this gen for me, gives me hardly any reason to replay it...I liked unlocking people...
Thats Exactly why i use to play MvC2 on the Dreamcast, to Unlock all the other Characters because for me, it feels rewarding :)
Praise the Lord. I honestly hated fighting Seth. :/
especially to unlock gouken .... (not a goood memory )
I never unlocked him or Akuma...not to mention Seth. I had to put the game on Easy to unlock the others. Seth was such a cheap asshole. -_-
Even on Easy Seth was a pain in the ass.
holding forward and hitting High Kick repeatedly on super easy was so much FUN!!! /sarcasm :p
Tekken 3 for the PS1, I had a blast playing through the game with characters I wouldn't normally use just to unlock everyone. Why is it now-a-days people want things done for them? I swear half the kids playing these days would cry to their mommas if the difficulty was toned up like it was back in the day. Take Demon's Souls for instance, I mean it didn't do anything evolutionary (as in making it so you had to replay everything and everyone) but you had all these articles talking about the difficulty and how it was intense, back in the day that was the norm. Ah well, I'll end this nostalgic rant get back to my thing...game on!
Good, i had to unlock all the SF4 characters twice because the PS3 version has locked save data so when my PS3 died i lost all my progress (including online BP's) and had to get em all back again.
I swear, what the hell r they doin? Youre gonna remove the best part of playing SF. Another problem i have is them even releasing another version of this after already just buying the most recent one! I am not buying it again just for a few extra couple characters. Its ridiculous and all about making more money of the game! They better give people the option that already own the game to download the extra content if they want or there are going to be alot of pissed off people out there, including myself!
I think it only makes sense for there to be no unlocking. It's not really a new game is it.....it's just a re-balancing with a few new concepts. This is not a whole new release mind you, everyone has seen all there is to see. We've played Seth, Akuma and Gouken....so I am not surprised and support this. If there were a significant number of new characters then maybe. But it's just a bit of a update (Y)
I was looking forward to not having any replay value with this rehash.
Please Capcom get DUDLEY in there.
I never liked unlocks of any kind anyway. A good game doesnt need those artifical means and reasons to play it again and again. Other way round, if you dont enjoy a certain game's mechanics, dont play it, period.
Sweet can't wait to pick this up even though I sucked so bad in the first one online LOL.
take a look at this http://www.eventhubs.com/gu... hope that helps
