In C.O.P.: The Recruit, Dan Miles gets out of having to be someone's girlfriend by choosing to become one of New York's finest. With his criminal/ex-street racer mentality, he investigates the most extreme cases of detective work alongside partner Brad Winter, who acts more as Dan's teacherly mentor than a guy you eat donuts with in your patrol car. Unfortunately, the bane of the story arc here is a heavy reliance on easy stereotypes without any real character exploration. I pretty much know as much about Dan Miles towards the end of the game as I did booting it up, and being an ex-con, he's terribly uninteresting."
