Left 4 Dead 2, 30 Minutes of HD Gameplay

Ve3tro writes: "The zombie frenzy is nearly with us again, with the release of Left 4 Dead 2 we bring you the first 2 opening chapters.

It's definitely an improvement over Left 4 Dead and it shouldn't be missed. Hit the break to check out both videos. "

Winter47th3681d ago (Edited 3681d ago )

Of course you're not picking this up! we know better about your conscious decisions than you do *rolleyes*

Vespertine3681d ago (Edited 3681d ago )

I will be picking this up the day of release as well.
Pre-ordered, and paid it off at GameStop. This game is going to be awesome, just like the first one.

Anyone want to disagree with me?
Edit: Of course. :)

kalebgray923681d ago

would be fun to play with friends but would like improvement

hamburgerhill3681d ago

I need this game like now! L4D is truly becoming the best Zombie experience I've ever witnessed on a console.

jhooty143681d ago

to bad no 1080p :( wish it was on ps3

HolyOrangeCows3681d ago

It still looks unbalanced in the humans' favor to me.
And the characters don't have as much personality as the first.

SixZeroFour3681d ago

i dunno, on expert it was extremely hard to beat the demo with 4 random REAL players...but i think it was easiER with 3 other ppl you know or the ai itself

Syronicus3681d ago

Found the game to be more of the original. Not that it was bad it just was not for me. Too bland if you ask me. The more weapons are appreciated but in the end it's just hord after hord of dead folks and more of the same shoot until the hord is gone... Not for me.

Are these map packs? What does this installment add to the series?

ginsunuva3681d ago

melee weapons: the world's greatest innovation.

I can just imagine GT's review:
L4D2 revolutionizes the coop-FPS-zombie genre with never before seen weapons like chainsaws. Such an innovation deserves all the attention it gets. L4D2 proves that it is not an expansion pack with a $60 price has melee weapons. With games these days like Uncharted 2 discouraging innovation, it's great to see great developers like Valve think otherwise. 9.5/10.

NecrumSlavery3681d ago

Just being supportive for the bots. This looks like more repetative non scary non innovating arcade shooter action like the first Left4Bored

Obama3681d ago

I have played the demo and I think if you have played the first one like me, this is definitely a rent not a buy.

madkrazygames3681d ago

yea I had the first one, but I downloaded the L4D 2 demo and was disappointed seeing how they didn't do anything new.

lowcarb3681d ago (Edited 3681d ago )

Then why don't you rent it lol. The point is your still going to pick it up one way or the other.

edit below vespertine: Good points and bubbles! I swear some of these kids just say anything out of spite towards a game coming to 360 god or bad.

Vespertine3681d ago

"I downloaded the L4D 2 demo and was disappointed seeing how they didn't do anything new."

You have got to be kidding me.

-Tons of new guns/weapons
-Three new special infected (Spitter, Jockey, Charger)
-Melee weapons, 10 to be exact.
-New characters
-5 new campaigns (each campaign has 4 to 5 levels)
-New game modes: Realism and Scavenge
-Updated graphics (more blood and gore)
-New items (Boomer bile, adrenaline shot, defibrillator and more)
-Incendiary ammo, explosive ammo.

Nothing new? You're crazy.

Halo3 MLG Pro3681d ago

That guy wouldn't know about the L4D2 Demo. He doesn't own a 360. Just talking fanboy jibberish.

Anyway bubbles for Vespertine for pwning this kid.

Obama3681d ago

You don't have to own a 360 to play the demo. It's not exclusive as it's on the pc.

TheBand1t3681d ago (Edited 3681d ago )

lol, did you seriously forget that L4D2 is on the PC?

Time_Is_On_My_Side3681d ago (Edited 3681d ago )

I'm with madkrazygames because most of what you said is true, but when put into practice the game feels more of the exact same thing. The enemies still blindly run at you, the story doesn't seem too strong, overall when I'm playing the only real difference seems that it's taken place during the day instead of the night in a different setting (with of course characters that pertain to the setting).

Most of what you mentioned is a typical upgrade from game to game, what really counts is how much a game distance itself from its predecessor (in my opinion). I don't want to pay full price for a game that is essentially the same exact game I already have, would you?

Like for example, why couldn't the new campaigns be down-loadable instead? Five new levels don't count as a new game in my books.

Vespertine3681d ago

I understand what you're trying to say, but aren't all sequels pretty much "the same thing" with new things added?
If the gameplay works, why change it for the sequel?

The Parish is the only campaign with day levels.
There are five campaigns, each with four to five levels. That is more than enough levels, and tons of replay value.
