OXCGN's Assassin's Creed: Lineage Review and Full Film

OXCGN reviews and shows the full Assassin's Creed: Lineage movie:

"With Assassin's Creed 2 being released this week worldwide, Ubisoft has released Parts 2 and 3 of their lead-up film Assassin's Creed: Lineage, which chronicles events prior to the game.

Detailing a vast conspiracy in Renaissance Italy and featuring Giovanni, the father of the game's protagonist Ezio, as the Assassin, the first of the films achieved more than 1.7 million hits on YouTube in 24 hours.

With the rest of the film now released and fully viewable here on OXCGN, what are we to make of the elaborate promotional prequel?"

The film is very cool. Can't wait for Assassin's Creed 2.

It will be interesting to see what happens as the story unfold, and by the looks of it, it will be around the 1 hour mark all up film wise. Which is great really.

I think Ubi and their new venture Hybrid are doing an excellent job with this, and it opens up the game to a broader audience that might not otherwise see it.

I believe it will be featured on A Current Affair very shortly alongside the actual game.

I hear there will also be books (but then the last game was supposed to have them too...).

This is an IP that can certainly not suffer by having films, PSP game, books etc. to support it. It is rich with story and potential interesting locations etc.

The movie was great...only the Halo live warthog ad was as cool.

Ubi have certainly hit on a great medium for getting both their games and films out there.

By taking them to the general public, they make the game much more user friendly insofar as they become well known through the general media, rather than just the gaming media.

I believe they may well be doing something similar with other games franchise that would lend themselves to this, include the Avatar and Splinter Cell . . which only makes perfect sense.

Instead of waiting for a movie version of Assassin's Creed to be made, Ubisoft just went ahead and made it themselves, and they did an awesome job.

I am a huge fan of the first game despite its repetitive mission structure and I can't wait for the new game. The atmosphere, plot, combat, and sheer sense of freedom that the first game offered was truly exciting and had never been accomplished in quite the same way before. It felt fresh.

Anyway, nice article. I have my copy of ACII already pre-ordered and I am really looking forward to jumping back into the world of the Assassins.

Totally with you there. Sick of games set in modern day or near future at the moment. This has an aura of mystery that terrorist plots and space marines simply don't.

Interesting article, it doesn’t surprise me because some people are better all a-rounders than others. Regardless of fame or how good they are in their specialty.

This is why I feel like the live action stuff in Alan Wake 2 especially is pretty bad. It also looks really cheap and amateurish.
