Bioshock 2 Fan Artist Made It Big, 2K's Loss Is Insomniac's Gain

Ripten: "Way back in March of 2008, we reported on a pretty impressive Bioshock 2 fan art collection by then student Ben Mauro. The art was so well done that it caught the attention of 2K Games Community Manager Elizabeth Tobey. That was just the beginning for a kid who 'never expected anything to come' from his school assignment."

I am happy that he got his break. You never know what awaits you in life.

Nostradavis3677d ago

agreed. his work is amazing.

Saaking3677d ago (Edited 3677d ago )

Talented kid it seems. Good to see him succeed. R3 next year I predict. Hopefully they'll make the weapon wheel come back (at least just for single player).

im jealous but i look forward to seeing more of his work and how it relates to R3 when i look at bonus concept art on resistance 3 next year

dragonelite3677d ago

See its okey to put some stuff of yours on the internet.

slave2Dcontroller3677d ago

piece of work. Would rather him work on R3 than R&C. Resistance needs a new direction IMO.

arsenal553677d ago

I agree.. Id like resistance 3 to be a bit darker. Plus I liked resistance 1 color palette and resistance 2 I thought was a bit to colorful.

itchy183677d ago

actually he's also working on resistance 3 project but he removed it on his linkedin profile.

The Great Melon3676d ago

Have to agree the color palette of Resistance 2 didn't feel right after 1. The Resistance story just feels better when it is a little more gritty.

I swear I must be the only one that really liked the second Resistance. I hated the weapon wheel from the first one. Makes things to easy.

Your not the only one. There were some great improvements in R2. I enjoyed R2 more than FOM, but I think R3 needs the darker color pallet and closer combat.

I would love to see him take Ratchet and Clank in a darker direction.

toaster3677d ago

The Ratchet and Clank series is known for vibrant visuals and lots of exploding things. If they go any darker than the game might not have the same WOW factor to it. Also if it goes darker then a Sheepinator won't fit into the game. That's my favorite one...
Fun silly weapons, lots of exploding baddies, colorful palette, cartoony look. Those are what make Ratchet and Clank what it is.

This person has a gift and it's going to fit in with the PlayStation™ family perfectly.
