GameObserver: Borderlands (PC) Review

GameObserver writes: "The hybridization of the RPG has gone so far that it's harder to find a game without any of that genre's features stuffed inside of it than it is to actually find a real dyed-in-the-wool Role-Playing Game. Though the joyless grognard in me detests this current trend in gaming, the gamer inside of me secretly enjoys it. Combining standard RPG features such as character creation, skill trees, and leveling up can actually turn a rather bland game into an enjoyable one if done correctly. Games like Deus Ex, System Shock 2 and Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines showed that it could be done... though back then that hybrid style wasn't as in vogue as it is today."
