This week's edition of Critical Reception examines online reaction to BioWare's Dragon Age: Origins, which reviews describe as "the best RPG of the year -- and maybe the best of the HD era." Dragon Age currently earns a score of 91 out of 100 at Metacritic.com.
GF365: "If you’re a reader, this list of great games for avid readers is for you. Games are a form of art, and some have written literature in them."
Here are some great action role-playing video games to play while waiting for the highly anticipated Dragon’s Dogma 2.
Talented writers can build worlds that are as wondrous as real-life. Here are the best lore-rich video games for you to get immersed in.
How'd fallout not make the list. Atleast over cyberpunk, tales , and halo. Fallout been around since what 96 98 and has 5 6 games into it. It's full of lore when you play it. I'd even add star ocean to a point.
narration is more important than lore i'd rather watch the story and characters in a more cinematic way instead of searching for notes and stuff that's why i love sony exclusive games like uncharted and gow and hate from software games
I think Demon souls as an RPG gives Dragon Age a very good run for the money. Both are superlative in their respective executions of the RPG genre. I find each of their worlds fascinating, though i would obviously give the edge to Dragon Age for dialogue (Bioware FTW!) and Demon Souls for far more realistic portrayal/gameplay (Funcom FTW!). Suprisingly to me even, I give equal marks for both games being punishing. I keep reloading Demon Souls for not playing a perfect game, but just as tragically I reload Dragon Age for not playing out a perfect dialogue scenario (or realizing consequences down the line).
If I need to give a slight edge right now... I would say Demon souls because I have completely no idea of how this story will play out... whereas Dragon Age has that familiar D&D lore to it.
