Minitorial: Modern Warfare 2 to do more harm than good?

Chuck says: "I'm not sure what's gotten into the water over at Infinity Ward but my enthusiasm for Call of Duty:Modern Warfare 2 has been dying a slow death over the last few weeks. First we had Infinity Ward killing off dedicated servers for the PC side of the house which I could label as IW trying to own the process a bit more and to make a little extra advertising coin off of PC gamers. That's certainly their right despite stripping PC gamers of their ability to host and configure their own servers (which is a fairly big deal for that demographic). I was probably going to buy the Xbox 360 version of the game so this doesn't impact me too much. The downside is that the door is now open for more PC developers to do the same which would have severe repercussions in the PC gaming community over the next few years"

IW have certainly proved themselves capable of making great games but, I agree, that lately they really arecoming across as either way too confident and self important OR plain lacking in common sense.

Fist they support Activision in fleecing the EU, then it's picking on the PXC crowd AND lying over why, then we had the start of the "pl;ay as a terrorist" thing(which they should know will always get portrayed badly)and finally they make videos of questionable taste that could offend people however ironically it was meant.

Are they trying to prove this game will sell however dumb they act? As I no ongerv buy Acutucision games it's no personal issue for me but I'm quite surprised at how many odd little faux pas they've made.

I'm a MW2 Objector. I am not going to buy, rent, or even pirate this game. I refuse to support the disdain for gamers that this company is promoting in the gaming industry. Thus I will take my business elsewhere to support development studios and publishers who are more dedicated to the enjoyment of making games, as well as making games that gamers want. Regardless, if you stand with me or I stand alone, I will continue to stand up for Gamers everywhere. This is my vow.
