Nintendo is considering an always-on 3G Internet connection for the Nintendo DS similar to that found on Amazon's Kindle electronic book reader. The initiative would require increasing the retail price of the DS to cover the connection costs.
we will see this implemented in the PSP2. Nintendo is usually behind everyone else digitally, so I could see Sony announcing the PSP2 at E3 with 3G next year.
Sony doesn't have to stop supporting the PSP Go to release a PSP2. They still support the PS2 and the PS3 has been out for years now. There have been so many PSP2 and next-gen DS rumors that I won't be one bit surprised to see at least one of them make it to market next fall. Keep in mind, both platforms have been around for a decent amount of time now. The cycle doesn't start over with every new iteration they come up with.
"Sony doesn't have to stop supporting the PSP Go to release a PSP2"
Hit the nail on the head. PSP2 will probably have PSP backwards Compatibility to keep selling PSP software. Of course PSP2 games will probably be more expensive though knowing Sony's pricing strategy lol
we can always hope that they retain their $39.99 retail price for the next PSP and lower the original PSP games to $29.99. I cringe at the thought of $50 portable games.
are lower than last years, but they are still outselling EVERY other console. I don't see your point. If it is still the BEST SELLING console on the market, it's a joke to say that the "craze" is going away.
The thing is about the DS, is that everyone just wants one. I have to say I used to have one but the games didn't really resonate with me so I gave it to my nephew. But my wife and her friends or some of my friend's kids love the DS, mostly for Mario games.
a butthurt fanboy! LMAO. I'm not even going to argue with you about how Sony is clearly imitating the Wii with their wand. If you can't see that, then you are the blindest fanboy on this site. Anyone that agrees with you fails into the same category.
Anyway, I would only buy a Kindle-like "3G DS" device if I could play the games from any Kindle I want by signing on with my username, OR if I could play from any device. If all my games are locked to a single device or a finite number of devices, then Nintendo can go f*** themselves.
Content providers need to get their sh1t together before planning to go completely online.
dying for either a PSP 3G or DS 3G ever since I got my Kindle. I love it, and I have service just about anywhere!
i dont see a 3g ds for the next 3 or four years..
hahahaha!!nintendo is copying amazon...but i guess this was expected
seriously?
