Cage: Sex and violence for the sake of it is 'not right'

ConnectedConsoles: Yesterday at the Eurogamer Expo, Quantic Dream's founder David Cage spoke in an extremely good and witty developer session, in which he played through a demo of the French developers upcoming game Heavy Rain and answered some questions. He revealed a lot more about the game and gave us a real insight as to what we'll be seeing more of in the future.

After he gave us a demonstration of the game the session went into Q&A mode, in which Cage was asked about how Quantic Dream's would divert the attention of the sex in the game away from the media.

this guy speaks the truth. shame how games have evolved but society hasn't evolved with it >_< a 10 year old can easily watch an 18 rated movie on the internet but suddenly now that a minority of children get their hands on 18 rated games, it's time to blame the developers for inluding sex and violence in the first place. makes no sense at all.

them jabronis always use video games as a scape goat for violence and sex but not so much on drugs. Remember Manhunt 2? Media ALWAYS blames video games as an influence no matter where you see it, BUT lately video games have been low profile after GTA IV. Yeah children this generation are open to the internet for stuff like p0rnography. And yeah some act like they're from the 'ghetto'. And you can blame the parents, the biggest hypocrites of them all.

Nice that a Dev is making an adult oriented game. In the adult world people deal with all kinds of situations that are not appropriate to children. Heavy Rain is for mature gamers with content catering to mature tastes. Many gamers like myself are in their 30's and older who want new experiences that cater to our more refined tastes. So nice to play a game outside the norm from time to time. Can't wait to play this game. Congrats to Quantum Dreams for making the game they want and for respecting it's intended audience by making a game with situations that make sense within the context of the overall theme of the story. Will pick this game up as soon as it's available.

It's probably one of my most anticipated now that Cage has said that. Good for him! It's true. You wouldn't care if you saw sex in a hollywood film but in a game thats RATED 18 its like 'NO!'
